Yet we aspire for Schiano with all that revenue.....

The Haslam approach to bargain bin hiring (including Hue Jackson in the NFL) obviously hasn't worked....

What this tells me is we could've had Jimbo/Gundy-level coach. But HoH and most of administration have been fine with us languishing in mediocrity, maximizing profits.

But couldn’t afford a proven HC when they had the chance to do so?

Seems legit.

I thought they announced 131k at The Battle at Bristol.

They had to rush the last 30,000 people in without checking tickets because they were so slow in processing people that they were going to miss kickoff waiting in line. It was a total cluster eff.

Typical. All those tailgaters waiting till the last minute to go in not realizing how far they have to walk once inside.

Since when did gross revenue = profit?

nvm, it says revenue, not profitability.

We offered huge money for coaches. I believe it was over 7 million for gundy. However T. Boone could match us and then a lot more. Money was not the issue for hiring a coach. Us having a lot of money is why our assistants and support staff are now the highest paid in college football.

Highest revenue yet we spend less than most of the teams we're looking up at. Bama has slightly less revenue and spends almost twice as much on football as UTK. If you want to win championships, spend football revenue on football and let the other stuff fend for itself.

You may be a guru but this post is full of ignorant.

I know we have to pay buy outs but its portion each year are not tens of millions. I would like a extensive list of where every penny goes. I feel there are cronies and contract firms with sweetheart deals.

2018 budget. Quick Google looks like most years the AD as a whole comes out 5-10 million in the black with most of the excess going into Neyland stadium improvement fund and other facility capital improvements.

Why serve Filet Mignon when your customers will pay the premium but choke down Hamburger Helper with a smile?

Alabama had $62M in football expenses? Would like to see a breakdown of that number.
