Fostermom's travails elsewhere, and someone here who suggested that a certain word be, I guess 'banned' from even the possibility of it appearing on this board, have brought me to posting this thought...

We don't need censor software here. We have, by and large, some of the best posters here at VN that exist anywhere I think. Sure, there have been outbursts over the seasons that reached pretty highly elevated temperatures(and language), but the people here tend to find the ways to de-escalate tension in reasonably short order. We are a self policing body. Quite good at it in my estimation.

Poor taste is one thing. And measured in varying degrees by all who read here. Out and out slurs, and deeply personal attacks are simply not tolerated by VolNationals.

So take a bow VN, in your vast majority you are one fine bunch of posters, and a fine example of what the spirit of the Volunteer fan ought to stand for.

Feel differently? Got a more critical view than mine? No censors are activated here, so let's hear it...

Keep in mind, these members will let you know quickly where the boundary is.

The things that I would do to the girl in your avatar should be censored :whistling:

Speaking of avatars and such gainesvol, what do you mean by "I'M A COXMAN"? Is is a erroneous attempt at a rowing term, are you a Cox Cable fan, or is it a personal preference declaration? Just asking - seriously.

Truthfully Freak has a good handle on what should be allowed on VN. I do fear when GOW2 comes out that the standards may slip.:whistling:

I think it's from Wedding Crashers.

A couple of things. I work for Cox Cable and it is also one of my favorite quotes from Wedding Crashers. The other is "Shut your mouth when you're talking to me"

I will agree with OWH that this is one of the best boards I've posted on. If you can speak your mind without getting personal then there is no need to fear being "censored". If you wouldn't say it in real life...

When I first started my current job I was told to always read emails with the idea that the sender had the best intentions with their message. I find reading posts that way helps a whole lot (although it's easy to forget).

Are they made for speed or for comfort?:eek:lol:
you motor-boatin' son of a b****!!

MOM, MEATLOAF!

Yeah, it could have been the soft mattress. Or the midnight rape. Or the nude gay art show that took place in my room. One of those probably added to the lack of sleep.

Trust me, condolences are not needed. I never realized how profitable the cable industry is until I got into it. Getting out of the energy market was the best thing I've ever done.
