I agree this is going to take time and all the fans that keep posting negative things shut up or go be a fan of someone else coach DD walked into a program that had been run in the ground and it is going to take at least four or more years to rebuild so every body just get behind the team and show your big orange pride by showing this team and coaches you still support them and not belittle them on every loss

I've noticed each year the level of quality posts on this board declines. It's frankly unbearable to read every week from all the keyboard coaches who should start, which staff changes are imperative, how terrible the team is ......... grow up, life's hard, you deal with the hand you're dealt and that's what DD understands. It's asinine that that those in the football business understand this but so many of our fans don't.

THANK YOU OP!!!!!

the level of impatience and incompetence on these boards some times is unreal.

People were calling for dooleys head halfway through the third quarter in a 2 score game...

We are young but I was hoping to see some improvement in our run game but its not going to happen. That falls on somebody.Im not impressed with Wilcox and it has nothing to do with depth.Everybody knew Ga was going to keep going deep lat night and sooner or later they were going to complete those passes. He never adjusted even after they completed those long passes.

Before the season started we were projected to go 6-6 or 7-5. Since then we lose JJackson, our best defensive player; Lathers, our best linebacker; Hunter, our biggest offensive threat; and now Bray, our quarterback and people are upset that we might go 6-6 and want to fire Dooley. Did we become a 10 win team between the spring game and now, and everyone is let down? If all these guys were healthy and we had a good season, people on this board would be calling Dooley the next Saban and talking National Championship next year.

We are quickly going there.

I date back to Bill Battle and Johnny come Marching Home.

Realistically we will not win another game until November. It's going to be a long long month. I thought we would fair pretty well in this game, come out playing and win it, but it wasn't to be.

I don't ever remember a time at UT when I didn't think we had at least an outside chance of winning an upcoming game. The only game this month I feel like we have greater than a 0 chance of winning is South Carolina and they will have to have an off day for us to beat them.

I do not entirely blame Derek Dooley for the mess our football team is in. That said, I do feel like he and his coaching staff haven't entirely stepped up to the plate. Yes, they have been dealt a sorry hand, but they aren't doing anything with it.

In my opinion 100% of the blame for this mess lies at the feet of Mike Hamilton. Yes, it was time for Phillip Fulmer to retire, however, Mike should have had someone standing in the wings and ready to take over and move forward. He hired and unproven head coach (Lane Kiffin) and allowed that sorry piece of trash to take advantage of the University, the Taxpayers, the Fans and the Donors for a tremendous amount of money that might as well have been burned. Then when that fell apart we didn't end up with a name brand coach, we ended up with someone coaching a team on the level of Carson Newman and threw them into the fire that they were not ready for.

As it is, Derek Dooley is our head coach. It is not in our best interest to not support him or to get rid of him at this point. At this point some kind of stability has to be built into this program. We have to get back to the point of having upper classmen starting and underclassmen who have talent backing them up. Right now the Seniors on the team should be Phillip Fulmer's Recruits, the Juniors Kiffin's Recruits and frankly the Sophomores should be Kiffin Recruits as well. Where are the Juniors and Seniors?

One thing I have to Concede to Kiffin as much as I hate to is this. If something went wrong on the field one week it was fixed the next week and didn't happen again. Were into our second season under Dooley and still getting penalties for delay of game because we can't get the right play called and team set in time. We still can not kick a ball. The same people still can not hang onto the ball. There are other similar things that can be attributed to coaching.

A football team is a lot more difficult to fix than a basketball team, and I for one am glad Mike Hamilton is gone. I believe that given time Derek Dooley will bring Tennessee around to being halfway respectable. At that point we may have to change coaches again to get to the next level.

I don't know how or why but our team peaked in the early to mid 90's. IMO, the national championship was an accident. We've now bell curved all the way back to where we were with Coach Battle and it's going to be a long climb out of this hole.

For what its worth I'm disappointed, but still and always will support our players and coaches. I think our championship aspirations went out the window with hunter getting injured. That said, for the coaches to have gotten this team to this level of hope in just their second year of rebuilding is pretty noteworthy in itself. A few injuries to key players and what do you do? Stuff happens and two years isn't long enough to build a team full of sophomores and freshmen up to the point of sustaining this kind of performance when the key pieces get hurt or kicked off the team. Obviously, we need two more years to get back to this level, CDD is here at least that long, so he will have a chance to show what he is capable of.

I still feel like this team has some fight in them though. May not be playing in a championship this year, but they have ample opportunities to ruin someone else's season before its over. I love this team, and believe that we will be relevant again sooner than later.

Go vols!

I have blamed our inability to control the edge on defense to a lack of speed and young line backers. Several times last night, I primarily focused on what our front line was doing on defense to see if I could tell where we were getting beat. I was surprised at how often our defensive ends lined up in a 7 technique. The Bulldogs were obviously not as surprised as me. They just hooked us all night and ran outside on almost every run.
