Tennessee's slow start brings quarterback Jonathan Crompton under fire

Crompton gets blame from fans disappointed by Tennessee's 1-2 mark
Friday, September 26, 2008 By MIKE HERNDON
Sports Reporter

It's fair to say that no player in the SEC has taken more heat in this young season than Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton.
Quarterbacks will always get a hefty share of blame during disappointing seasons, and the Volunteers' 1-2 mark heading into Saturday's showdown at Auburn certainly qualifies as disappointing. One thread on the VolNation.com message board this week queried whether Crompton is the worst Tennessee quarterback ever.
There were several affirmative responses.

Wow I can't believe they would put the opinions of several people they have no idea who is writing in an actual paper. That is why these are blogs not intended to be pure truth from what I have read for the most part, but hey that was my opinion of Crompton anyway

give me a break.

Pat yourself on the back there big guy. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if every sports writer for every University we play from here on out doesn't come here to get their fodder.

You just can't beat using an opposing fans forum for content. Good stuff right here.

I'm sure the Alabama people are eating this up.

I'm personally glad everyone and their mothers knows what we think of Fulmer and JC

Totally agreed if he wants our opinions to change then he will change the way he is playing
Don't you realize? The criticism and the boos have robbed Crompton of the ability to read defenses, find a secondary receiver, and throw the ball with anything resembling accuracy. We should all be ashamed. He'd be Troy Aikman if we'd all just leave him alone.

Robert Neyland disagrees.

you might actually be the most delusional clown on the site, yet want to talk down to everyone else. Pure comedy.

I must say, however, your vigilance is paying off. Wins are coming in droves.

Don't know what it is, but something here feels awfully preachy.

Maybe that's why your message just doesn't seem to get through. Maybe if you just went to stone tablets or lightning bolts. Just a couple thoughts.

I hope Robert Neyland raises from the dead just to slap this guy in the mouth for trashing his legacy.
