For - We are six games into the season. It boggles my mind how so many "fans" are already calling for Dooley's head. Their utter lack of comprehension of the disarray of the program astounds me. Dooley was man enough to take the challenge head on and will be successful. Give him a year or two and these current Freshmen & Sophomores will be fierce.

FOR - I think Dooley is the right guy. This team is running on '7 cylinders' (maybe 6). He's got to have time.. NO WAY you can judge this staff now and it's ABSOLUTELY RETARDED to be calling for their heads...

For - Recruiting horrible in Fulmer's last years and attrition through 2 coaching changes have left us depleted. While this recruiting class is not full of headliners, it is building a solid foundation to build our depth back up.

49 and for this staff. Hard to make hay when the sun dont shine (depth). Give it some time and I think this crew makes it happen. Miracles dont happen over night.

47 Emphatically For! Bottomline, I don't like losing, but I like what I see long term--the program is headed in the right direction IMHO.

PS: I think this is a flawed poll, would have been better with anonymous voting as I think only those of us For or at best neutral will self report. We'll see once the late night posters respond.

PPS: I am surprised and encouraged by the age of some of the frequent posters. They are a lot younger than I suspected and I'm encouraged because they tend to have insightful, well developed and informative opinions that have taught me a thing or two about the game.

PPPS: Tell the truth, this was just an attempt to get VolGirl's age, wasn't it?

For - I was ready for anyone but Fulmer. One more camera shot of hand clapping after a turnover and I would have lost it.
There are occasional glimpses of future successes. I am excited about the direction we are headed.

33- FOR- but I can't stand to see posts like "wait til Dooley gets his recruits" or wait until the DC gets his type of player" etc....... TN has, have had, will have some of the most outstanding and athletic players in the country. What are we trying to wait on , a couple of guys who can run a 4.1 from the 23 to the 30 yrd line then replace them on third down for a guy who can jump 4 feet in the air, then put in a guy who is great with lateral speed, then on fourth and must a guy who is blind but has great instincts and hands......?

29, for the coaching staff. I think they are in a hard spot and essentially are going through the motions until they get a full amount of players and talent they recruit. At that point I think I can judge them more and say if they are good for the future or not. They do have questionable problems (counting players) but I think it will be fixed in time.
