I think it's funny how many members of this board have complained about this game/experience. I thought this was what we all wanted?

My opinion - Those that insult the concept so much?
Those that can't attend for one reason or another.

Honestly, why else would you complain so much about somewhere that they are not going to be?

The view will be identical from their couch staring at the t.v.

Charger, respect the hell out of you, but the opinion above is much the same as someone buying something that they later find out they were screwed on. I am critical because I don't think we need to be part of a spectacle. That is what it will be. It is not going to be fan friendly. Picture sitting in HH Row 52 and being in a mediocre seat. If you guys want to go, have at it. I wouldn't go if I lived in Bristol and I would be going to Knoxville for every game. The view will NOT be the same sitting on my couch. It isn't the same when I sit in Neyland.

Having said that, I hope the whole place is orange. I just hope people are there for the novelty, hope it isn't an every year thing as it will be a waste of a home game, and hope we kick their asses.

First, thanks for the respect. Opinions can differ and respect remain the same. Consider it returned :hi:

But my point was that if you are watching a game on t.v., the location is unimportant. The cameras will be the same distance from the action at Bristol as they would be at Neyland or whatever the name of VT's field.

So for anyone watching at home, no harm.?
For those attending - we should thank them for making history, adding UT to another record book and hope they have a blast!
No need to try to point out perceived negatives that most likely won't amount to a hill of beans in their overall experience.

0.8 miles.
The cup race has often been a true sell out and would not be surprised if the game is also given the historical meaning.
Guys, plan to walk a little to help clear SOME traffic issues or better yet - just plan on making it a very late night. Hang for a while after the game and socialize. Good friends and atmosphere always beats sitting in a car yelling in vain at the cars in front of you.
It's more like .5, because if you go to finishline it is on other side of track and is on VT sideline.

Yeah I believe it will be 2 vols to every hokie fan. I hope we destroy them because if you live in Tri Cities you would only understand how in the past they try to talk trash to UT fans.

From what I understand the public sale of tickets along with the lottery came from left over tickets from the VTAD. So I'd say your right

I learned early on in my experience here on Volnation that complaining is a daily/hourly occurance. As is life it seems.

Personally, I think the tailgating alone will be epic at the Battle at Bristol and I plan on making the most of it. And...anyone who has experienced the changes Bruton Smith has made to BMS over the years KNOWS this will be an experience of a lifetime.

Warriors Path State Park in Kingston is relatively close.....about 20 miles away.

Warriors Path is in Kingsport, not Kingston, but this is a really good idea for those planning to camp. In normal driving conditions, it is 30 minutes to the Speedway.

Because it is a state park, the camping rates won't be jacked up for gameday weekend. They also have a golf course, a disc golf course, swimming, biking, etc.

The main campground is full, but there are spots in the overflow camping area:

I added this to the top post

thanks for the info :good!:

Anyone else have any updates to the seating charts? Right now I'm under the impression that the half/half set up that BMS originally sent out is still correct, there was just a higher demand from UT fans, so we will probably bleed well into the VT sections.

I bought 10 in the VT section back in June, just paid the balance through BMS today.

For those interested in the difference in the former screen found in the middle of the infield, and the new one being constructed now...check out this billboard next to the Bruton Smith Building.

Speaking of this ..What is deal with tickets/ I went in that lottery and was unable to buy

As a back up, I also purchased 6 tickets through VT. Good thing I did because I didn't win the UT lottery. I think we got really good seats in the Allison Terrace (can someone confirm this?). Sucks we will be in the VT section, but at least we will be at the game!

If I don't end up using all 6, I'll definitely offer Volnation users 1st.

How many of us bought tickets this way. Just curious if we will own their sections too!

Good location but you will be about as close to the field as if you are on top of the press box in Neyland.

Got my campground assignment today. Level 1200 in All-American. That's gonna be "Vol Village".
