Volnation 360 NCAA Tournament/League?

Any chance we have enough to run a tournament or quick league?

The way we handle it on Golden Tee is you get roughly a week to hook up with your opponent, schedule time, and knock out the game. Post the final score and we move along. Of course, the quicker folks play each other, the quicker the tournament/league.

I'm sure Freak would donate a T-shirt for the winner. Probably need 6 or 8 folks to have something good.

I will donate the shirt and maybe a special title or something for the champion.

I would love to play but I am afraid I would get killed. NCAA is not one of my best games.

So, we have a couple interested, all of which claim to be the worst at the game. Should be interesting if we can get it going.

im in if i can get the game and live in time.

i may get the game tomrrow if i can. as for live i will try to get this weekend, but you may want to look for backups.

I'm not looking for anything high pressure or anything like. We all know each other here and we're mature adults for the most part. Just thought it would be cool to get something going so we have something to smack about around here.

If we can get 8, that would be cool. 2 groups of 4 playing each other. Roughly 3 weeks. Then, the top 4 go to a playoff, single or double elimination style. If folks want, we just start over at that point.

I'm also thinking starting immediately isn't necessary. If we can 8 folks together (if you have a friend you want in, that's cool as long as 8 VN members aren't in already) in the next couple of weeks, cool.

We did this for Golden Tee since it's Live and real time leaderboards now. Had 64 people start a double elimination tournament. Each matchup is a best total score on 3 matches. It was fun and worked well. Each mach the players decided a good time and knocked it out. Again, no pressure, no set time, and if it takes 2 weeks, so be it.

I'll try and keep the list going up top. If you will definately play, please post that you're definately in. If you want to include some times when you normally might be able to play, that's cool too. I would imagine a lot of us (Freak excluded) have regular jobs and probably have an occasional weeknight or weekend day of game time. Props if you have more...I wish I did.

If we get 6, we can still do 3 weeks and then have a seeded tournament . 2 groups of 3, and then 1 game against the other division.

Any other ideas, throw 'em out. Just looking for a good time.

What does that mean? I have a regular job. :dunno: :p

It would be single elimination then? It might be more interesting to make it double elimation. I think you could do that and only add one more week or so. Something to think about.

Double Elimination is perfectly fine with me.

Sorry about the job comment...I was just thinking back to the days when you played CoD everyday for like 3 weeks straight. :nener:

Oh now I get it :lol:. That was fun times. I was burned out. I took like the last two weeks of the year off. Oh, if only every week could be that way. :biggrin2:

Count me in but I need some internet help if anyone can give some free advice. Hopefully I will get it fixed by the time we start a league.

i think you wlil have to get me of the list this time.

i struggled early, and i will get better.

but i still dont have 360 live. maybe we could do a tourney in the future after this one?

Well, my internet is confusing me. I have a laptop and when I surf the net, it gets "hung up' after I go through about 3 pages. Example, I log onto volnation and the home page comes up. I click on volboard and it freezes up and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to unfreeze it and exit explorer. Is this a virus? Here is some info. I had to get in touch with comcast to get it to log on again yesterday. The wlaked me through some setting in tools and got it to log on the internet but now, whammo this happens. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

hmm. Sounds like it could be a windows or explorer issue if it locks up. I'll be it might be Internet Explorer locking up over a corrupted plugin or something. Are you using Internet Explorer? If so, do me a favor and downloard Firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ and see if that solves your problem.

Is it pretty self explanitory or does it just run (firefox) when you download it. I am a bit of a technopeasant. I just got my first computer (at home) this year. Please forgive my ignorance. I have always had a internet dept. at work to take care of these problems.

Nevermind. I just looked at it online here at work. Hopefully changing to firefox will fix the problem. If not and it is a "virus" or system problem, who should work on it. I just bought it in march at best buy and got some sort of 3 year service program (probably a rip-off).
