Volfan_X breaks info about Crompton/Clawson/Cutcliffe

That was not exactly prophetic. The argument that we should have given Crompton more snaps last year is weak IMO and the rest of it is the musings of an anonymous fan.

Pretty much said that Cutcliffe never really liked Crompton because he wasn't his type of QB, and that Coleman and Stephens are both listed at number 2 QB because GJ is really the 2nd string QB.

Come on man, it is the one week mark of the debacle in LA, I need something to get riled up about. My kid is in the room asleep, don't wanna turn the sound up....just spill it.

1. Cutcliffe had it out personally for Crompton and did not give him a chance to get meaningful snaps last year.

2. Coleman and Stephens are distant #2 Qb's (Cutcliffe recruits) for a good reason... because they are not the #2 QB's, Gerald Jones is actually the #2 QB.

3. We are recruiting Nunes which is a traditional dropback QB, Petty from Texas which is a product of a spread/option offense, and some other guy in Virginia which is an athletic/dual type QB. Indicating that this coaching staff has no idea what they want this offense to be once it "grows up" and they are just grasping at straws getting a variety of QB's but have no idea where they want the offense to be in an ideal situation...

It was a better thread before you meddling kids solved the mystery.

Well, why we are solving the mystery. Tony said that Urban will not get the chance to rub it in on us, he is not worried about that. "end quote"

But it was exactly what I was saying last year. We already knew what we had in Ainge. Coleman and Crompton should have gotten more snaps last year... esp. in garbage time against USM, LALA, Arky St. and the teams we should beaten easily like Vandy...

1) Who have you ever really seen give meaningful snaps to a backup QB when they have a Senior starter and the backup isn't a superb athlete that offers a change of pace?

2) If push came to shove, it wouldn't surprise me if this is true.

3) We recruit different style high school QBs all the time.

easily didn't apply to many of our games last season.

the most interesting part of the audio was something that is largely irrelevant now, which was that the deal Cut made when he came back was that Fulmer had no hand in his offense, nor could he question any of his decisions.

We should have given Crompton and Coleman more snaps last year in games like Arky St, LALA, and USM. Unfortunately, Ainge could not give us enough seperation in a few of those games and Cutcliffe's play calling also kept us in a few games that were way closer than they needed to be. Laugh all you want, meanwhile the fact remains that we did diddly squat to prepare our future QB's for the future at anytime last year.

But hey, at least we went to ATL...

I believe it is 100% true...

3) We recruit different style high school QBs all the time.

My contention has always been that we fell so much in love with Ainge's physical attributes that we didn't even ask if the guy was a football player. If Ainge would have had to face the same pass rush that Crompton saw Monday, we would have seen the same crap we saw at the end of last season with either passes ithrown waway in the stands or -2 yard completions.
