Vol Walk: Simms

I was at the VolWalk and I noticed. For one he stood out because he was wearing light colors compared to dark for everyone else (nothing wrong with that, it just made me notice him). The thing I noticed was, while other players are smiling and high fiving fans, he was walking in the middle, not making eye contact, hands in his pockets, and looked like he was pi$$ed off at the world. He looked like he would rather be somewhere else totally.

Well, it's never fun to be publicly passed over, but guess what, kid, it's going to happen again in your future, REAL life --bosses, girlfriends, other friends, your dog. Learn how to walk tall and show some class. Public sulking is incredibly unattractive, and pretty much makes people despise you even more.

He would-- the starting lineup.

for 2 seasons, he was thrown into the meat of the schedule as a tackling dummy and pulled when the "easy" games came around ..

So basically he looked pissed and that he didn't want to be there? I can't say I blame him too much. He's got 4 or 5 college games left in his career and he's likely not going to get much more than mop up duty, if that. His play did it to him, but it still has to suck.

Sorry about not checking back last night to explain. The above pretty much nails it.

IMO, if players don't respect our traditions and feel like they have the right to sulk through the thousands of fans that show up to support the team, then they should lose their right to even wear the orange jersey.

I'm not lumping anything on the kid's performance. But, being one play away from re-assuming the role of QB for the University of Tennessee, Simms need to get his head out of his backside.

Give him a break. It is not like he is trying to play badly. He might not have what it takes, but he has contributed more than many of the peanut gallery complainers ever will. He has given it his best shot, helped win some games last year, almost beat LSU. Better than many of the magpies who bash him can say.

I can't speak for others, but this one was to call him out for disgracing the Vol Walk tradition.

Some will find any excuse to beat up on him. Next he will be accused of not tying his shoes right. Even if he had a spring in his step in the Vol Walk, the yardbirds would say he doesn't even care about losing his job.

He came to Tennessee, gave it his best shot, and according to many, he failed. I give him credit for trying and for playing for the Big Orange.

He was asked to play catch with a kid. When he threw the ball to the kid, he accidentally hit the kids mom in the face standing 10 feet away.

Yes, I noticed him too. He was walking by himself, and I don't think there was another player within 20 ft. of him when he passed us. He just had this disgusted look on his face, like he was mad at everything and everybody, and could care less about anything. I remember thinking to myself that I hope they don't put him in the game because he may screw up on purpose.

SIAP, but was anyone else as bothered as I was with Simms's demeanor during the VW?

Seriously... What, he didn't smile just right for you? Didn't show enough teeth or too much? Looked down at the ground when you thought he shouldve been looking up at you?

Good grief people... Some of you really need to get over yourselves...

After 2+ years 'experience' here on VolNation with the way some of this fanbase acts, if I had a son with D1 talent, as much as I love my Vols, I wouldn't have problem if he went somewhere else...

It really wouldn't matter how he acted, would it?

I honestly can't understand some of you. I just don't understand why you get off doing this kind of thing.

I guess most are bored with nothing better to do
