I know for sure that kids love them because im the same age. I'm in high school right now and us kids love new flashy uniforms. Sorry old timers that's just how it is!

I'm in high school as well but in all honesty,I really don't care what Tennessee wears as long as we return back to our ways of winning football game.

How did Jimmy Hyams get that reputation?

Was it a particular story he got scooped on or is a consistent pattern of getting scooped?

Jimmys deal is when rumors from reliable sources leak. People will ask him foe his thoughts. He will almost always say till I talk to a couple more people I dont feel comfortable reporting that. Then when it does become reality Jimmy will bust in on Sports Animal and report it as "Breaking News."

I deff want one as well. Need to find someone in Knoxville to help me out. Any idea what they run?

The stadium store at Gate 20 sells them, that's the only place you can get them. I think they're $150ish.

Its operated by UT Bookstore, if you're out of town, Google their number, call and ask for the Neyland Stadium store. They will be able to ship one to you.

is black a complementary color to Orange? If you want to add a dark color shouldn't it be dark brown instead of black?

Bama has not changed their look and have no problem landing recruits. The flashy look you speak of is nothing more than a gimmick and that gimmick can come back to bite you if you play lousy due to the fact it is amplified even more because of a flashy uniform.

If a kid wants to choose what school they want to play for based on uniforms, find another kid who has their priorities in place and wants to play for the right reasons. Sorry young folks thats just how I see it.

Bama had a pro combat uniform last year. the highlighted statement is just ridiculous. no one has ever suggested that, only that players and recruits care about uniforms, and thats ok. the marines have used their uniform to recruit the same aged kids for years.

You are right. Bama, LSU, Auburn have traditional uniforms and recruit just fine. Each has won a NC recently.

UT has been able to recruit a long list of NCAA All-Americans in the past with Tennessee Orange & White. IF black uniforms were so desirable then Vanderbilt would be a traditional power and UT would be the trash program in the SEC.

LSU has done a couple special uniforms. didnt Auburn do a throwback? again, no one is saying that uniform changes create success, only that kids like them, and they help with recruiting. dont twist words around to say something they are not, just to justify your opinion.

Any photos of the NEW SEC patch that will be on the 2012 Vols FB uniforms ? Arkansas and Missouri were shown on the pic of their new uniforms - I am assuming these replace the pennant patch

Just an orange circle, outlined in white with the white "SEC" script, same as what our other teams have worn the last few years, just larger.

because alabama hasn't changed their look, UT should not?? what kind of logic is that??

Not the point; peolple are acting like changing the uniforms bring in the recruits yet Bama has looked the same forever and has no problems getting the best players.

So this notion that UT must update their uniforms to get the best players is ridiculous.

It would be interesting to know how the bama players would vote on different uniforms. I would think the majority would like a change.

I wouldn't use Bama's Pro Combat uniform as an example of an attention getting uniform.

That was as mild a change as you could possibly have.

Just wondering DP if I write to the FB equipment manager if they would part with an old jersey pennant - since they remove them from all the jerseys

You can give it a shot, but they aren't the ones that add/remove the patches. It's done by a local shop that Adidas and UT contract with to do embroidery for a variety of things.
