There will be no blackout. We will not wear black jerseys. They haven't been ordered, they're not in the equipment room. I don't know why people keep bringing the rumor up.

The white jersey-orange pants combo is supposed to be our "primary" road uniform this season, but it's really up to the whims of the head coach and the team. Word is that we will indeed wear that combo tomorrow. Of course, the plan was to wear all-orange for the "Orange-out" against WKY, but they changed their minds the Thursday before and went with the traditional look instead.

Basically, what I'm saying is, I know what the plan is *supposed* to be, but nobody really knows with this staff. Someone close to the situation told me they packed both sets of pants in the hauler, as they weren't positive when they packed on Thursday.

If it were to happen, and that's a really small possibility, shirts may be provided for the students (as in the first 10,000 through the gates get a free shirt) but after that, bring your own.

If it happened, there would be a shirt for you to purchase, but similar to the orange game against WKU, they'd probably still have 10k for students.

There are no black jerseys. You can't wear what you don't have. We didn't order any, but we will be wearing the orange pants in every road game this year except Alabama where we will be wearing home orange and they will wear home crimson.

I kind of thought this was the plan considering it made sense going with the "Orange-out". I really wish they had considering WKU would have been a great opponent to get the rid of the "curse" of the all orange look.

Any word if they are planning an all orange this year, or is like you said, kind of whim close to the game?

As far as why the rumors keep coming up, probably because someone posted a while back saying they talked to a player who wished to be anonymous that said they were shown the black jerseys and that we'd wear them against South Carolina. Methinks said poster made it up.

I'd say all-orange is more likely than it was under Fulmer, but not a sure thing. It'll definitely be a whim type of thing.

Anybody who said they saw a black jersey, other than the ones sold in stores was making it up. They don't exist.

With the few black and orange jerseys I've seen this year, and the game being on Halloween, one can only hope this will be a night game. Perfect situation for one. It's been a 7pm+ kickoff the past two years, at least. Plus, I just want more time to tailgate.

and, no, i'm not on the black jersey/blackout bandwagon that has overtaken every other school. under the circumstances, it just makes so much sense.

There is a facebook group asking for a "blackout" against USCe. It will never happen. At least without the universities help and marketing.

What's peoples obsession with the color black? What is it like the universal color of cool or something? I don't understand why people want to dress up like they're going to a funeral. It worked great for Georgia..... oh wait a minute scratch that.

Black is the color of death. I want our opponents to see death when they step on the field.

Obviously, I'm not in favor of making it a permanent alt. uniform. But as a one game deal, and having it on sale in the stores here in Knoxville, I think it would be great.
