there are going to have to be a lot of ex-Tennessee football players die off before that ever happens. Like Jim Haslam, Peyton Manning and many, many more. The first two will make the call if it occurs in future.

Who cares what colors they wear? I mean after last season shouldn't we be more concerned with winning right now? As long as they win the game, I couldn't care less what color uniform they do it in.

The same people that are resisting the black jersey's are the same ones who wanted phil to stay, face it your afraid of change , it scares you. Look phil was afraid of change too and look what happened to him and the VOLS, we were left behind!! The black jersey's are for two things; to motivate the player's and get them hyped and for recruiting! Question, do you want the vols to be back on top? If your answer is yes then you should understand that this is appealing to the 16,17 and 18 year olds. They love it and if it takes a black uni to do that then we need to stand behind it!! GO VOLS!!!!

I don't know if this has been discussed, but I'm going out on a limb here.
What if the AD and those who make the calls are doing this because it's Halloween? What if they aren't doing this because they think it will pump us up and play harder? What if they are doing this as literally a one-time thing, because of the day it is? What if they have no intention of using it as a gimmick against big schools?

From what I've seen, that's what it's intended for. It isn't discussed to be a pick-me-up for the Vols, it's because it's on a holiday that our colors already resemble.

Alabama won 12 games last year and Florida won a national championship without a black jersey. UGA started the season No 1 and wore a black jersey against Alabama and got thrashed, take that back, they got trashed. So why care about black jerseys?

Who cares who wore what and what the outcome was? We aint them. I personally don't care if they do or don't. But if they do, the world will not end. Regardless of whether they are in orange or pink or black or white, they are still the vols. And its funny thinking that people think UTK values their opinion and a decision will be made by what they think. Not gonna happen. Get over yourselves. I did read an article where EB stated he would love black unis. EB's opinion> random message board guy/girl.

The black was done on the outline of the numbers because the media could not red the numbers...Fact...Black is NOT one of UT's official colors...You want to root for a team in black and orange go root for Oregon St...Horrible

it's people like this who make the jersey argument so over the top. jerseys do not symbolize the changes of coaching. it's just such an extreme argument. why not support the jerseys because you think they would look cool?

I'm all about some changes. I welcome them. I just don't think black is a cool looking uniform.

after going through all the options that the members submitted in the original fashion thread, i agree.

it's just funny/pathetic to read some of the responses on here because it seems like there's WAY more extreme posts. if you like black unis then you're condemning the program to hell or looking to be vandy or uga. and if you don't like the black unis then you're an old timer and letting the program slip to mediocrity.

Personally I love the black jersey idea. Not as a regular thing but once in a while would be sweet. I bet it would become a hot sales item.

People want black for the excitement factor. If you can not get excited in Neyland Stadium on a Saturday night watching the orange and white you need to find something else to do.

Get gothic somewhere else.
