Syracuse: Orange, BLUE , and white
Clemson: Orange, PURPLE, and white
Tampa Bay: Orange, RED, and white
OK State: Orange, BLACK, and white
FLA A&M: Orange , GREEN, and white
Ore. State: Orange, BLACK, and white
Illinois: Orange, BLUE , and white

Guess orange, ________, and white insn't that unique

No, our Orange & White is unique. Its from the American Daisy that grew on the hill behind Alumni Gym (when you could see the hill, now our stadium covers it up). There is a HUGE difference between our color & Clemson, or Miami or Syracuse, or anybodies,...ours is the only type of orange in that hue. And how damn pissed off do you get when some jackhole calls that school in Tx. "UT" then says they are orange and white. That nasty burnt orange isn't the same and they sure as hell aren't UT. I believe UTK has Austin beat by about 1/2 a century as far being a school.

And that pic with Berry wearing the uni with all the piping and non-traditional panels to the jersey and pants. They can keep that too. We are UT, trends & fads are for schools that have other things important to them other than football.

admiral, i'm afraid that those of us on the side of tradition may get the short end of the stick in the next few years...

The discussion wasn't about primary team colors. It was about the uniform on TV. Multiple examples were given by me of teams wearing orange shirts and white pants at a game.

It's called the 21st century.
Tennessee hasn't made major changes to it's jersey since the 1980s almost every other team in the NCAA has, the exception Alabama. We all know they live in the past.

I see what you mean but all I'm trying to show is that if you look closely they all have a secondary color somewhere on the jersey.
I'm sorry if It looked like if I was trying to be a jerk.

Check the photos of USC in the 90's and their uniforms now. Metallic finish on their helmets, and modest trim additions to thei uni's

Sure, and while we're at it, why don't we hire a painting crew to colorize the statue of liberty, change the USA flag colors to lime green, pink and baby blue and get someone to carve Michael Jackson's bust into Mt. Rushmore...:stop:

Agreed. I have no problem with change, or better stated, improvement, but traditions should be cherished and passed on down to future generations, intact , not changed because we find them boring. There's a lot of "changing" going on these days for which the pricey bill has not come due yet.

But then, I'm a persona non-grata at UT Chattanooga, so what do I know...:neener2:

Do any of you remember the criticism that was brought on by the away jerseys numbers being outlined in black? And now they are wanting to have black jerseys! I am an Orange and white fan, stay away from the black except for the away jersey's number outlines!

What would you think about a USC style as far as stripes go. I know some people would say it's copy catting but I think it would be refreshing enough and at the same time still traditional enough for fans. Use black outline on the stripes and numbers. What do y'all think that would look like?

Tennacious do you think you could get a USC pic and alter the color/logo/ect to fit UT?
