I've got a few new plays that I've drawn up for Kiffin... anybody got an e-mail address?
If you were a coach or player...he might listen to you. That's their profession...not some Joe off the street. When it comes Graphic Design, as it relates to uniforms, that's not CLK's trade...and like anything else, they can take it or leave it. Maybe you need to call CLK and tell him you said he can't accept uniform concepts from an individual contractor.

With the basketball uniforms, for example, Adidas has a design staff working on those...sure; but it's not uncommon for even the largest companies and studios to have a list of freelance artists that they regularly call upon. It's very common as a matter of fact, because it's a cost cutting measure. I doubt there is a dedicated staff working on UT's stuff year round. They probably just respond when a coach asks for some changes. This is a different industry than most. If you have a strong portfolio or demo reel, most places are going to stop and take a look at what you got.

Thanks for your participation. Bye now. :salute:

Let's allow this thread to die, and you tell us how it goes when you get an answer from the Athletic Department. There's no more discussion that needs to be had for this.
You're welcome to step away at any time. No one's holding a gun to your head. As I stated early on and had to repeat more than once...this thread was to specifically to ask a yeah or nay from other fans, so as to gauge fan sentiment...not to fight and haggle over it's merits. Either you like it or you don't. It's just that simple. Thumbs up or Thumbs down, then back to your regularly scheduled program. :salute:

I really think CLK should listen to what I've got. I've been staying up late nights scheming for him........

I've got this one where the QB does a 3 1/2 instead of a 3 step drop. It will totally throw off the pass rush. On another one, Bryce waves to the crowd before getting the handoff. Those are just a couple of my ideas. I don't want to let the really good stuff out for the Bammer fans on here to get and send to CNS..... sometimes it takes fresh ideas to really get things going!!!

Hmmmmm, interesting...

I'll put it this way. You aren't listening to our statements. You say that you want our input, but if the input is negative, then you don't want to listen to it. There's nothing that we can say right now, because it won't change what's going on. As I said, send it away and see what comes back. Until then, let's let this thread go to the netherworld.

From discussions on WNML this morning, its starting to appear that black jersies are going to happen for '09. In light of this, when would we wear a black jersery? I have some ideas:

The team earns the privilege to wear black:

Option 1 - We wear black during a streak of 3 or more wins

OR

Option 2 - The week prior, UT defeated their opponent by 21+ (my personal choice)

Doing it this way, there are no "expectations" that may come with wearing the jersery. We wear it as a symbol of accomplishment, rather than expectations of beating a team like UGA for example. We wouldn't want the jersery to "curse" us and doing it based on achievement rather than what we WANT the outcome to be would help a lot.

Thoughts? =)

Want to go into more detail for those of us who did not hear this?

Sure. I joined the show half way through this discussion on my way to work. The hosts were taking calls from people regarding their approval of these black jersies. Roughly a third of the callers were very much against it and citing tradition as a reason.

The hosts pointed out that the jersies are being made by Adidas which gives even more weight to the notion of these jersies becoming a reality. Sure, we've seen off-brand black jersies before, but not usually from the official uniform manufacturer.

It was implied by the hosts that it is likely that CLK would introduce black jersies this year. They stopped well short of saying that black jersies are definitely coming though.

To me, the show segment seemed credible. I also think it was UT putting the feelers out (through the radio station) to see what the temperature of the fans would be on these jersies.

They sold Adidas black basketball unis and we've yet to see them. We may go black but imo the school maximizing on Eric Berry's popularity means nothing.

Griff...no offense, but I think you're a little bored. I would suggest doing a little wood-working today, or reading a good book (Wendell Berry's A Four-Legged House is amazing), or even an a good movie (Godfather) with a bowl of chips and salsa (roasted corn and black bean). I think we have all heard the black uniform thing a bit much on here. However, I appreciate your writing...just a little bored myself with the offseason. Perhaps I'll finish that table I've been working on today. Well, hope you get inspired soon and get past teh writer's block. I know I have it from time to time.
