Good for you kid. Go to the Air Force Academy. Joining the AF was the best decision I have ever made. Congrats for getting excepted to the AFA, that's a huge honor in itself.

Get your Masters from UT, after a couple of years in, you'll need it for your career, ask your dad.

1. Thanks to your dad for his service and thanks for continuing the tradition.
2. Definately go to the academy as that is your best chance to do what you want.
3. However, if the AFA doesn't work out for some reason, UT's AFROTC program is a great fallback option. If your dad kept his state of residency in Tennessee then you can get the Hope Scholarship on top of the AF ROTC Scholarship. If your grades are good, then you can get the University Scholarship as well. In otherwords, your school is paid for and you get to enjoy the UT atmosphere. But, again, that is the fall back, aim high!

Its still way better than the Coast Guard Academy, and exponentially moreso than West Point.

Think he said he's not in or appointed yet. If dad's a grad, he'll have a leg up. If not, that appointment is hard as hell to get, depending on locale.

i attended USCB (SC@Beaufort) for my undergrad and Armstrong Atlatic State University (Sav, GA) for Grad School and I'm a UT fan.
