Sorry Freak but I have to call BS on 4 over 5. #4 is the worst F ing logo on the board.

Personally, I would give the edge to #4 because it brings back great memories for me of The Ernie and Bernie Show and the spotlight introductions at the Stokley Athletic Center.
I do like #5 because it's so historic. My least favorites are #7 and #8, even though I once had a t-shirt with #7 on it and Smokey will always be iconic. But remember, the worst looking Vols logo (retro or otherwise) is light years better than the best the Gators, Bama, UK, or Vandy have to offer.
