He's pissed. He gets asked the same questions every week, i'd be pissed too. In fact i'd limit my access to 2 or 3 times a week. Basically he could just write them a note: "We're not very good", "I'm watering the Bamboo", "Heather come help me relieve some of this pressure" should about cover it.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, it should just be limited to the press conference on Mondays
Damn Coach Dooley is fired up.

edit: Does anyone feel that Coach Dooley wanted to say something more after he mentioned Tauren's "tweak" in the hamstring. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I feel that CDD wanted to say Tauren needs to suck it up and play.

I was thinking he was about to lay the wood to HH for asking yet another dumb question, but you could be right. Doesn't everyone miss a couple weeks (at minimum) for a hamstring?

if any of you watched CDD's comments after practice today, you can see that this is really taking a toll on him, and you can see the stress he's feeling. This poor man is going to age about 10 years after this season. We need to get behind, and support him, and quit making all of these stupid negative comments that are all over this board. He really needs the support of the fans right now, and let's all show him that we support him, and that we're not giving up on him or the team, and we know he is the coach that can get us back to where we all want to be. He's the only coach that we could get at the time to come take over this whole mess, so let's let him know how much we appreciate him and what he's doing.

He's irritated at the impatience that comes from the media. He would rip VolNation a new one if he read some of the cow manure people post on this website after losing games we were expected to lose.

This. I hate loosing as much as the next guy but what it boils down to is this: We were supposed to lose to FL, we lost to FL. We were supposed to get beat by GA, we got beat by GA.

I dont understand all of the uproar.

Somehow I feel there's a joke there...:p

I didn't think it was that dumb of a question. But it was just the way he said "tweaked". Pulled or strained are usually the terms used when a hamstring is injured. Tweaked seems like "it hurts, but you can still go". JMO of course and like I said, I may be reading into it too much.

I dont understand all of the uproar.

Half of the uproar on here is strictly emotional catharsis. Go back and look at some of the preseason predictions for our record--the same people who are calling for his head are the same people who predicted an 8 win ceiling and a 6 win floor for this team.

Right now, given the injuries...I'd say we're looking at 6 wins, 7 if we get a lot of good fortune.

Didn't see the video (at work, can't view it), but I can't imagine him thinking that a RB should just play through a hamstring injury. Now, hammy injuries come in all sorts of degrees, but if you get back after it before it's healed it will never heal at all. There are lots of injuries you can play through, but a runner can't just play through a hammy, imo.

Incidentally, at the game, I wondered how Teague caught that guy after the long catch when he'd just run right by him on the route. Didn't know til I saw the DD show that the receiver pulled a hammy.

maybe dooley was thinking "a bruise on the leg is a long way from the heart."

She can ask me all the dumb questions she wants as long as she dresses like she is in the video.

I don't get this "supposed" to lose games crap. Maybe I'll try that at work and say it's all good because we're "supposed" to lose this deal and see how that works out.

Like it or lump it. DD must succeed or we will be wandering in mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Some might have wanted a "big name" coach, but in this situation DD will do as well as any of them. It goes without saying that we need to get behind DD and the players.

He definitely had a thought brewing there that he kept in his head. "Full Limit meaning he didn't do anything."

The "supposed to lose crap" comes from 1) us not being very good and 2) playing teams that are better than us. Is that really so hard to understand?

You play to win, no matter who you play. Not hard to understand at all.

Dude, it is not necessarily that the games have been lost, it is that the team has not looked ready to play SEC caliber competition yet this season. It is mostly reflected by the offensive line play. Those guys appeared to play better as freshmen than they have played this year. The have regressed instead of develop.

Unless there is improvement, this team will be VERY lucky to win 6 games.

HH is quite good looking. DD was noticably chippy. I like it. "There's no magic pill guys. It doesn't exist. In life, in losing weight...."

Sounds kinda like "we gotta work like heck." Tell us something we don't know Coach.

Matt is a VOL. I dont need to know anymore about him. He WILL get the job done. If he is not what everyone wants in a UT football player, then they dont know the meaning of a baller.

The blondie at one point looked like she smelled a fart or was holding in some bad gas...

I'm glad to this pt this thread hasn't got to the "end of the world" bs. Thanks to all yall.

I don't think he's stressed more than any other coaches. He's just tired of the same questions and pretty much tired of all the people that expect this to be turned around over night. Like he said a player might have a good game and everyone thinks he's the best ever without proving it week after week. Then he fails to live up that last game, and then everyone is pissed.

This coaching staff is still trying to mesh, and majority of them are still trying to figure out the SEC grind. In a way we are lucky this season is as tough as it is cause they will have experienced the best teams in the conference. How many teams are going to play #1 and #2 back to back and then get the 3rd best team in the West a few weeks later?? We all knew it was gonna be tough, and we unfortunately need to take it in the mouth until we learn how to move fast enough to block it. Takes time.

Once we start getting solid SEC caliber depth behind our starters then we will see good things. This is what they are working on, cause we didn't have it when they got here. This guy took on a mess cause he's man (crazy) enough to take it on. People in these forums act like they know more about Tennessee/SEC football than he does...but I'm sure he knows more or will give anyone a run for their money. That's why I'm proud to say he's our coach. Sic'em Dooley!!!!
