Sorry if this has been posted already - maybe it's in one of the Gruden threads.

After 3 games:

Offense:

Rushing Offense (90th nationally - last in SEC)
Passing Offense (31st nationally - 2nd in SEC)
Total Offense (69th nationally - mid-pack SEC)
Scoring Offense (41st nationally - mid-pack SEC)

Conclusion - Without Ainge we'd be in deeper doo doo.

Defense:

Rushing Defense (90th nationally)
Passing Defense (95th nationally)
Total Defense (102nd nationally)
Scoring Defense (110 nationally)

Conclusion - We need to play Miss St. soon to move in the the upper 80's on some categories.

Overall - Wow!

This reminds me of Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton defending the state of Arkansas.

"When I became governor there was a lot of work to do but we've made progress. When I started we were 50th in the country in adult literacy. Thanks to me, we've moved past Mississippi. That's right, we're #49 and casting an eye on Alabama. Watch out Alabama!"

The 2007 offense isn't nearly as good as the 2005 defense.
No doubt about that but we're ranked about the same on the defensive side of the ball this year as the offensive side of the ball in 2005. It's hard to get much worse than our Defense is this year unless your Florida A&M or someone like that....I mean how long has it been since a UT defense has gave up 126 points in their first three games, our defense is pathetic.....No way with how they're playing right now will we beat UGA next weekend, but I can get ahead of myself we still have to Arky State...Just have to wait and see what tonight brings I guess

In 2005 our defense kept us in alot of games we shouldn't have been in.....3 or 4 plays in 2005 could have went either way and we make a bowl game, we can't say that this year.....The only way we're winning games this year is if its a shootout

very true

This year-4th-6th place offense
This year-10th-12th place defense

2005-1st place defense
2005-terrible offense

Our special teams was better that year as well.

We do not have the offense for a shootout. What's our longest play from scrimmage so far this year? We don't make big plays. We can do long, time-consuming drives, but we aren't going to win a game in which our opponent scores 40. That is to say, we won't be able to win said game if our offensive philosophy stays the same.

I'm sick of Ainge's finger, I know he's trying to help us out there by going with an injured finger, but if we have to change our gameplan this much then we should go with Crompton. Now, Ainge gives us the best oppurtunity to win games, but it's inexcusable to not throw the ball more than a couple of yards. I'm not hating on Ainge, but man, it's killing us with this TTU style offense. SEC speed is to good for that to be successful

I was a huge fan of the way Cutcliffe called plays last year, this year how many shots have we taken down the field??? I understand we don't have Meachem and Swain like we did last year to throw to and know that 95% of the time they're going to come up with it, but how does Fulmer expect the "young guys" to step up and make plays of he doesn't really give them the opportunity to?? I do think that tonight in the game we need to work on running the ball more, because I don't know that if its a fast paced game against UGA and then the 2 weeks after that at Bama, as much as I hate to say it just running 10 yard post routes we won't beat them

This senior class has the opportunity to be part of two of the worst Tennessee teams in the last 20 years, yippee.

I was thinking about this earlier today, that has to be tough for them. But I'm still waiting for one of them to step up cough-Jonathon Heffney-cough

Not just in the last 20 years, try the last 5...I hate talking bad about everybody but now I'm getting tired of calling 8-4 and 9-3 a good year.....The game last weekend really put me over the top....I figure we would get beat but I didn't think Florida would absolutely slaughter us the way they did

I totally agree, Cutt was aggresive last year. It's hard to believe that us, the Tennessee Volunteers don't have anyone that can run a 10+ yard route. Where's the development in that. I'm glad all these talented young receivers have transitioned into solid players, wait, they cant even see the field

I can't understand how the defense is getting so tired. They aren't on the field long enough. Either the other team rolls down the field in 2 minutes or our offense takes 15 minutes off the clock to get in field goal postition. :eek:hmy:

Look at how long our offense stayed on the field in the 3rd quarter against Florida.

We had the ball for all of :27 seconds of the third quarter in the Florida game. You tell me why they are getting tired again.
