Since I will be testing beaming Vols games to a 7'X7' screen outdoors during milder fall weather, I'm looking for additional ways to flaunt my Vol-ness. Does anyone own the item below. If so, do you think it was worth buying from a quality prospective?

I love the look of it, but the issue I have with fire pits like that is they do not burn clean and smoke too much. You would be better off building a fire pit like the one in this video (no it is not my video) but I have built this fire pit and it works great.

I don't have that firepit but looks cool.

I was planning on a similar set up. Have you thought about day games, the sun and a shade for the screen?

What is the best option for a stone patio? I would think the Solo would create too much heat and damage the stone. Is a gas model a better option?

Solos have actually been used successfully on wood decks, the heat travels up and the based remains relatively cool. - not affiliated with the org at all

I actually have a relative that has this pit and it looks nice in the picture posted but looks slightly different in person. This is not the actual color of the paint. This is a rust design and it will get all over your hands as soon as you take it out of the box. The rust look is most definitely cool but my relative cleaned the rust off it and painted it with a high heat paint that don’t transfer onto your hands when you move it.

Further proof that God loves the Vols....otherwise why would He make flames so beautifully orange? ;):D:D

Grab a 55 and split it in 2. Twice the fun at much less cost.

I own this fire pit. It is great. I built mine up about 2 1/2 feet with decorative bricks because I felt the fire was too low. It comes with a top cover in case you burn wood that pops and shoots sparks out. The expanded metal in the cut outs only lasted about two years, but it is easy to tack weld more on it. You can get a really tall flame without the top screen.firepit.jpg

Just build this pit and paint the blocks orange and white checkerboard

Thanks to all of you who responded, and for your suggestions and comments. I'll probably go with VolMarine1371's route, as it seems the fastest and easiest.

Outdoors daytime viewing? No. Wrestling the 7X7 collapsible screen (it isn't all that collapsible) outside and into position isn't fun. Also, I'm using a wireless screen mirroring transmitter to a wireless projector. In my experience, daytime viewing a projector video is more trouble than it's worth, so only night games for us.

Yes, but with the help of lots of brick and a layer of concrete heat shield board. The wood never sees any heat and the fire pit stands at a much better height to enjoy.

This is made to hold a 22" grill grate on top of the fire. Wood fired steaks are hard to beat.
