Vol Parents: What team do your kids root for and how old are they?

My 5 year old grandson has already been to about 6 football games and 3 O&W games. He knew what the power T was before he could even walk. His mom likes Florida, but we have trained him to not be like his mother.

I've used that same maxim and I'm proud to say I've raised a 20 year old son who is enrolled at UT now, a 17 year old daughter who is all Vol, and retrained an Oklahoma man. He didn't know a thing about football, but he was too good of a husband to throw back, so I raised him like I wanted him and now he's one of the biggest game day fans. We did it all behind enemy lines in GA, where none of us would have ever dreamed of cheering for anyone else. When Mama's watching football, you better either be yelling Go Vols! on being quiet.

I grew up loving the VOLS! I now have 4 boys ages 6, 4, and 2 year old twins, all VOL fans by birth. Got the opportunity to take the oldest 2 to Neyland for their first game last year and start a family tradition that hope to carry on for years to come. Watching the game Friday night the 4 year old burst out with Rocky Top (which they all know by heart) after the first touchdown! Made my day more than the UT win!

Nothing but Vols in our house. We can't help it, our blood runs orange. My boys are 9 and 11. My wife sat me down and said the boys wouldn't be allowed to watch any more games if they went to bed crying again like the night we lost to LSShoe.

My kids were hooked at their first game. We sat around a great group of VOLS and that made their experience that much more enjoyable.

A couple of years ago they met Bray during the VOL Walk. My oldest was 9 at the time has the that photo hung on his wall beside his picture of Neyland stadium, Picture of General Neyland and a framed copy of Neyland Maxims. Yes, he is hooked.

I don't understand mix-schooled families, but my biggest pet peeve are fans who pull for one school for football, another for basketball and so on. In our home we love our VOLS from A-Z.

My daughter pulls for the Vols. She is a big men's bball fan, but she is excited about football now. My son is a very fringe fan, but he likes Bama; I always say, "pray for him cause he's not livin right."

My daughter, Payten who is 10, is a Vols fan. She has been a Vols fan before she was even born. She also did the TD signal when the Vols scored when she was baby

Daughter is a senior and shows her support every Friday in her Vol gear but most important she hates the Gators and has no problem letting them know every week... My son really doesn't follow College but will cheer for the Vols with me if he comes to watch a game.... He did watch this past Friday and thought they looked really good.. He went all through school and played baseball with our neighbor Chandler Parsons so when he and Nick Calathes went to Florida I think he secretly cheered for the Gators... :banghead2:

17 year old is a auburn fan, told me when he was about 11 he hated the way they broke my heart and he didn't what to go thru that. Afew days later he asked " If he could be a bamer" I told him sure but you can't live here. His gf converted him to auburn still hope he out grows it. My 13 year old is truely Orange Blooded!! 25 year old UT Grad 3years ago. 32 year old all Vol. He** 3 out of 4 ain't bad

One son just graduated East Carolina University so he is a Pirate but he also loves the Vols. He is now a first year student at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.

My other son is a senior at University of North Carolina. He loves the Heels but he loves the Vols too. He has applied to med school at UNC, East Carolina, Virginia and VANDERBILT. I might have to disown him if he goes to med school at Vandy. lol!

I always tried to take the boys to one game at Neyland every couple of years as they grew up. It is a long trip from where we live but you got to do what you can do. We were there last year for the Georgia game when Bray was hurt.

My dad took me to my first game when I was six. Canon firing on The Hill after TDs...I was hooked.

25 yrs later the wife and I were UT grads and season ticket holders and both sons were regular game attendees as soon as they could walk.

Today, one son is a UT grad and the other is finishing his senior year. Nobody misses a home game and sometimes we all go on the road.

Future grandchildren will have orange DNA.

My oldest son who now has a y 4 y/o told me a few years back "Dad, there are two things you taught me I will be keep me with me for the rest of my life, God and the Vols".

My blood runs deep orange; I was born and raised in Tennessee. But my daughter (26) was born and raised in Baton Rouge so I have to say she would pull for the tiggers over the Vols. My son also raised in BR might go for the Vols. I feel like I may have imparted negative vibes for them as far as supporting UT with my fussin and cussin at the TV and the likes of Spurrier, Saban, Gators, etc. Sorry about that.

I raised my kids to root for TN, my little girl could care less, but the boys are TN fans.
Now as they get older and if they choose to root for someone else so be it. I will disown them then. lol j/k

I grew up in an Arkansas house. My dad is a huge fan, season ticket holder at one point in my life. Think I picked the Vols to be different. I used to rag on the Hogs but as I got older I would cheer for them too because of my dad and the fact we got to go to the games. But anytime they play each other #VFL

Two teenagers. Both BIG ORANGE Fans. Of course their lullaby was Rocky Top. Amazing how many of their friends pull for Alabama in football and Duke/Kentucky in basketball

Great weekend in Atlanta:dance2:

My daughter is a Sr at NC State and actually cheered for the Wolfpack her first 2 years. She loves the Vols as much or more than the Wolfpack. She wore her State colors to the game but had a power T sticker on her cheek. In fact, since State plays away this coming week, she will be going to the Georgia St game with me this weekend.

Son is a Jr at East Carolina and loves Pirate football, but again, grew up a Big Orange fan.

Had a fantastic weekend in Atlanta with the whole family coming in for the game. Vols win on Friday night, Atlanta Braves and Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on Saturday night.

drncvol, if you ever need company heading over to Knoxville for a game, stop in Raleigh and I'll ride with you.

Always told my kids they could root for whoever they wanted to.......But, if they rooted for the Vols, I'd feed em, clothe em, and let em live inside.

My daughter is three...she will be a Vols fan.

Mississippi State will be acceptable, since both my parents are alum, but she will be a Vols fan first.

My nieces and nephews on my wife's side of the family are Bama fans. The other day my niece tried to get my daughter to say "Roll Tide," my daughter replies "No, my mommy and daddy says that's a bad word."

I was so proud I nearly cried. :)

I lol'd :lolabove:

Ever since Cam there are so many AU fans at my school...

The worst fans are ACC people that jump on SEC bandwagons during football season...
