I'm not sure why outsiders care so much about what goes on here. IMO It's out of fear. Why else would we be under such brutal attack? VN has shown the power of the fan and that scares people. Right or wrong, we have a right to voice our opinion. :peace2:

I'm a domer who has followed the Vols for years. I showed up here when Kiffin left and promised ND would take revenge (we failed at that). I moved to Tennessee a while back and have started to follow UT more and more; so not all outsiders wish harm. I want UT to succeed and get back to the top.

We deserve some of the backlash. Things like the rock painting will probably cost the Univ millions. Defamation of character when in a court of law is innocent. I get the reaction to the hire not the big fish we were looking for. Freedom of speach is not free of responsibility.

Those coaches that would be bringing it up to every recruits mother in their living room would sure use their freedom of speech.

Welcome back! Our last home and home was great... Wish we played the Irish still

If you appreciate freedom of speech, you should spell it correctly.

Who is Schiano going to sue? The broke ass student that painted that?

Lol. Painting the rock is not going to cost Tennessee a dime.

How are we under attack exactly?

Sticks and stones etc...but words will never hurt me.

If we get anyone being discussed at this point they all will be a better football coach than Schiano.

That is all that matters.

How did UT as an entity defame anyone? UT can't be held responsible simply because someone painted the rock. Any university communication regarding Schiano was carefully parsed by attorneys. Stop with the hand wringing.

How is what was painted on the rock going to cost the university? Did a representative of the school paint it? Did the school publicly endorse what was painted on the rock? Defamation of character is hard to prove in the best of cases, much less one where there is sworn testimony already on the books that has yet to be formally refuted by the one accuser. Schiano's legal team will probably threaten to sue over the MOU, but they won't try to sue the school over defamation, as they have no legal grounds to do so.

Thank you. :)

It was a great series. Hopefully you guys get your man; and we move on from our Cincinnati failure and play again in the future.

I think we schedule pretty interesting out if conference opponents but unfortunately we haven't made it back around to you guys yet. I still remember Samardja tearing us up but they were still great games

He had his chance to sue McQueary. He chose not to do so.

Going to be difficult to sue a rock painter when you refused to defend yourself against a statement made under oath.

At the end of the day, who cares what others say. We will probably be a better football program because of the Twitter tantrum we threw.

If we end up with Gundy or Kiffin, I will feel good about the future of this football program.

Those were fun years for both out programs... both took a dive shortly after that.. you guys have recovered but we are still diving

We have not recovered really, we just left the ER room for now. Next year Kelly will hit another 8-5 season and change will be coming. A lot of our fan-base(boosters) loathe Kelly; it goes deeper than w-l .

Exactly! I'm proud of this fan base right now. One day after another humiliating defeat at the end of our worst season ever, our tone deaf administration somehow thought we would be satisfied to have Greg Schiano named as head coach. They tried to serve us a turd when we had ordered a prime grade filet mignon. We threw it back as we damn well should have. The fan base is the only thing that has kept the Vol football ship afloat the last 10 years. Any other fan base would be so apathetic by now, they wouldn't have cared who was hired.
