Vol in the family?

My immediate family is all a bunch of Ohio State fans. My mom is the prototype, since if I say anything remotely true about OSU or the Big Eleven she gets real defensive.

The future Mrs wasn't a huge fan of anything before me, but now she's all Vol.

Mom, Dad, step-dad all graduated from UT. Brother is a Vol even though he didn't finish there.
Sister went to GT and brother went to UF.
Dad's family lives in B'ham and 3 went to bammer.
Mom's sister went to bammer. Rest of her family went to Tiger High or S Carolina.

I get abuse from everywhere!

Have you explained the beer drinking component of football to them?

I actually did turn my German uncle into a Vol fan before he passed away. Took him to a Vols - Cincinatti games years ago. He loved the bands and cheerleaders.

You know Germans though. Kind of like the Irish. Drinking comes natural.

My immediate family bleeds orange and white. Seriously. My wedding colors were orange and white.

However, my husband and the in-laws are LSU Tigers (except mom-in-law...she HATES LSU).

We're having a baby in November and he's afraid my family will try to brainwash the baby. I see nothing wrong with that. We've already established that the walls in the nursery will be painted orange. My Dad wants to paint a checkerboard on the ceiling! :birgits_giggle:

How can I convince my husband to let me bring Baby Bourgeois home in a UT outfit?

That shouldn't even be a problem. You just pushed that thing through....you know the story. I would dare say he would say anything to you and if he does, let him feel the rath.

My fam is all Vol.

My buddies are all Gators, except a couple of them and they're FSU fans.

Notice how almost NObody down here is a 'Canes fan? In fact, half the stores that carry merchandise for college football only carry FSU and UF gear.

I agree.

You rarely see any Miami fans around.

...or at the stadium on gameday for that matter. :)

I wasn't down here in 2001, or 2002. I wonder how many fans were around here then.
