I never did do conformity very well. Not for lack of trying in the early years. It took a lot time to learn how to shrug stuff off.I’ve always reveled in being different. Otherwise, where’s the fun?
I can go back throughly. In later elementary school years (6th grade was still there) into high school, I’d ‘magically’ find myself in after school mandatory bad person jail, just so I could have free reign of the library (no, not to do a ‘Breakfast Club’ redo). Peace and quiet to simply read, with 4 siblings, I felt like I was let loose in a bank.I never did do conformity very well. Not for lack of trying in the early years. I’m still a bit proud of teaching multiple Brownies the lyrics to “Take Me to the River” and “Try a Little Tenderness” (via my Commitments CD) in my minivan on the way to and from Girl Scout camp. Also teaching them how to fix stuck toilet floats by sticking their arms in the toilet tank (“Ewww, Mrs. [married name]!”
Pass your phone to Tiffany for this one as well!View attachment 490355
Since I missed all the "women knowing their place" talk, figured I'd share this in here![]()
