Vol For Life Y'all!

It's all good. They have to market to all sorts of tastes. If this song is what most people want to hear then the rest of us will just have to deal with it. But it probably sounds better after a 4 pack of Bartles & James.

Yea, I don't like all of it and I don't listen to it often, but when I do I enjoy it. Different strokes.

And one last southern rock favorite to accompany I'm A Vol For Life, Y'all :

Had a fellow on these boards tell me once that "The Outlaws are a British band." Haha.

Yes, there is a British band named the Outlaws. But they're not THE Outlaws. :)

Go Vols!

The girls I went for just liked to get drunk and f***. I guess y'all broke the code.

Driving to the beach with the windows rolled down and the sunroof back, throw in a little Sugarland All I want to do, and the next thing you know, I gots me a lipstick ring. :)

Cool thing: Rickey Medlocke from Blackfoot, and Hughie Thomasson of the Outlaws played together in the reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd for a couple of years. Join them with Gary Rossington from the original band, and that's a lot of guitar firepower in one place together. :)

I never did see any of that live. Kinda wish I had.

Its almost that time dude, we're about to see what we've got for a team. I'm like a little kid at Christmas. :)

Same! Starting to get up earlier and earlier each morning. Pretty soon I'll be waking up before I fall asleep, if I'm not careful. Excitement building fast.

Go Vols!

Me too. Got up this morning and did a "gut feeling" prediction of each game, just win, loss and scores. Drank damn near a full pot of coffee.

I like the idea and some of the lines in the song, but its just not good. No flow in any of the verses and you can tell he has to pause to keep up with the tune.

As a singer and song writer I can say you have no idea what you are talking about. Not at all my style of music but it's very much in keeping with the formula that's ripping out hits, much like Fla/GA line.
It's catchy and has bounce so it will go over well in the stadium.

I dont know alot about music, you dont have to be a singer / songwriter to know something doesnt sound good. Remember its the audience that judges the work, not the artist. In this song, its catchy and obviously i like the reference he makes, but the lines just dont go together very well. Just my opinion.

Oh, you dont want to hear me sing. I dont have to be a grammy winner to know a bad song when i hear it.

I get it, unpopular opinion so i must be shamed into conformity. As i said, cool theme, lots of good lines, not a good song. But i hope he does well and sells alot of singles from it.

well..."shaming into conformity" is the "in" thing now, so...shame on you...:eek:lol:

PS. side bar: well, if you still have a grammy, you're a winner, for sure...wished I had mine...

GO VOLS!

Sorry. But your wrong. Musical preference is completely different than whether a song applies actual melody, rhyme, clever lyrics, flow, and balance of verse, chorus, bridge. And most important is does it have a hook, which it most certainly does. Crafting the lyrics of important UT facts into something catchy doesn't happen just rolling out of bed.

It's like flavor. You may not like a certain dish, but it has nothing to do with whether the recipe is good. A good recipe gas nothing to do with your flavor preferences.

Absolute truth. But, if most don't like it, it doesn't matter.

So you're saying that, like painting landscapes or planning a battle, there is both an art and a science to the craft of making music. The science is the stuff you can measure and test; the art is the stuff you just feel.

I can dig that.

I like country music. This song isnt that good, i know cause i can hear it. Its pretty simple. Right know you sound like one of those artist folks that paints a square on a board and demand everyone believe its some valuable abstract of art history, because well....you are an artist.

So, that pretty much leaves me out of the conversation when it comes to sports oriented music. :whistling:

I'm an old rock and roll guy.
