Vol football not exciting anymore under Butch

I honestly when typing was thinking about last few games and how mentally drained I am with this team. 1st 5 games were exciting. Last few games not exciting because I'm tired of not being in the playoffs picture. Vols have not won SEC in 18 years. It's frustrating every year. I know yall can agree with me on that.

i DISAGREE. THis year has been very exciting. Not fun all the time, but not boring.

No. The game "FOR THE SEC EAST" was against South Carolina. Butch botched that...now we left hoping for a Florida loss.

To be fair, UF and LSU should've already played. If Florida had already lost (they likely will) the SCAR game isn't really that meaningful.

The whining at UT among fans is downright despicable. I sat in new seats to be able to bring my 6 year old to her first game and all we heard was complaining. Those people are pathetic.

I've never been to games with such whiny baby fans. One play goes poorly and "it's woe is me, fahr butch!"

GO HOME AND DONT COME BACK... Or do us all a favor and wear the colors of the other team because that is all you are to the loyal vol supporters. You ruin a good day, good game, and first experience for a young vol. GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT.

It's apparently the new way of the world. Have you been watching the news?

I don't get what some people call exciting. Overtime against APP State got the blood pumping but it's not what I'd call exciting football. Being locked in a room with a panther would be an adrenaline rush also but not something I'd call fun or enjoyable. Exciting football to me is being relevant and a quality team, and Lyle just isn't gonna get us to that point.

Well I hope the team goes back to only maybe winning six games for you. Having to wait until the end of the season to find out if you're going bowling is exciting right?

Because we were doing so much better the years prior to his becoming coach?

Getting 8 and 9 wins will not cut it. Vols have way too much talent and tradition. 8 and 9 wins is mediocre at this University. Should be playoff contenders in year 4. Who gives a crap about getting a Citrus Bowl berth

Yea, we need a coach like Phil (who averaged 9 wins a year)

I totally agree. He has taken the air out of this fan base. His sideline tyraids and lack of control over his players are killing this program.

I can't agree, the fans themselves are a lot to blame for deflating expectations. Nobody seems to want to acknowledge the injuries and the affect they've had on this season. Everybody says he's been here 4 years that's enuff time etc. and while half that statement is true the part I disagree with is the fact that the players he's recruited as starters are as good as anybody in the nation but the depth just isn't there yet. He was selling playing time not ride the bench til I need ya. But that's just my opinion.

Big win..... we're 1-0
GO VOLS🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊 beat Mizzou!!

If we haad 1, 2, 3 even 4 major injuries I could see your point to a degree. But our new name is no longer the Vols but M.A.S.H.
Absolutely cannot compete with top teams when you lose as many starters as we have. To say otherwise is just wrong and foolish.

Your last sentence speaks volumes. It's the same crybabies game in and game out

I want more but the "tradition" thing is fantasy. Both the majority of our seasons and average are .750 wins. That's 8 wins in a 12 game season.
General Neyland was truly amazing and Fulmer had a special run, but those were our rare exceptions, not our "tradition".
Seriously, everyone should want perfection or near it, I agree. But just beating our chest and saying "we are Tennessee, plus we have a really nice weight room", doesn't influence reality.

I think the USCjr loss was worse than the UK loss under Dooley. We had so much on the line this year and just didn't show up. Players or coaches. We have major deficiencies, no S & C coach on a weak and injured team, no QB coach when out Sr QB throws into double and triple coverage and hasn't played to his strengths until the 10th game of the year. We are very hard to watch, we waste possessions, committ the same penalties over and over and lead the SEC in interceptions with a Sr qb. We have zero development on the offensive line and 1 commit for next year, and he's a project. I'm tired of our coach flipping out on the sideline, coaching by slogans, and telling me everything is fine.

I'd love to see Butch turn it around. We are having and decent year and will probably beat another overmanned big 10 team in Florida in January. I don't like the way we are having to back door into the SECCG when the east is garbage.

No, that Kentucky loss was way worse. Lost to a WR playing QB and Dooley broke our 26 game win streak over them

We are an 8-3-1 team historically. The 90's were the decade of dominance because that's as good as it ever was. I want to be in the playoff picture every 7 years, play for the SECC once every three years ( Florida, Georgia, Tennessee) and win the SEC once every 5-7 years.

Losing control with his players???? I see you weren't around under the Fulmer years. We were Outlaw U.

If we play in the SECCG, we didn't "backdoor" in. We beat Florida.
