Vol Fans Winning

Yes, we are certainly losing. The university has spent over $10 million to fight among each other, ruin our reputation nationally, make the job and the environment toxic, and get what a week ago would an otherwise pedestrian hire.

Again, too many fans want to win a battle at the cost of losing the war. Short term 'feelings' versus long term success.

Just to clarify to the doubters......after the Currie firing.....yes, we are winning!

Not to be flippant, but the leaving of Currie would be better served after a new coach and staff are in place.

This event just adds to the obvious ills that will keep the top coaches away.

As with many things, with UT football, this has been handled poorly.

Vols fans losing.

No HC
No AD
Process in shambles
Crowd continues to gather as the fire grows.

Sometimes you have to tear it all down to build it back up. It had rotted from the inside. It's not dysfunctional because of the fans. The powers that be were not going to self govern in an acceptable way until the fans let them know we had enough. That was last Sunday.

Your response was limited, so I hope that I am not misrepresenting your thought process. Am I correct that you believe these past few weeks will be seen as the revolt more so that as the fiasco?

To be fair, it will be seen in various ways for various reasons.

Most people on message boards and social media believe that they do not have any power outside of group think. They feel empowered by social affirmations and, thus, believe their methods are the only methods that work even if they sacrifice some independent thought and dignity.

There is another, less personally affirmative, approach and that is to stop buying a product you do not like.

Count my stars?

That was a good laugh!

Tell us what badges you have earned little Johnny. Mommy must be so proud.

This sense of message board status entitlement does not speak well for UT fans.

Entitlement?

I have corrected you.

You are immature in your thought process if you believe there is an either/or between outcome and public perception.

You may only know how to feel like you have won if you try to think you have spoken for an entire group, claim that you impacted what has already been done, and create false arguments to win.

The reality is that a desired outcome can be had without childish tactics.

Disagree with all 3 points.

What would it take honestly to get JH out of Athletic affairs at UT?? Boosters demand he go away or donations stop?? I’m thinking he should step aside anyhow with all he has going on with the Pilot/FJ scandal...however long that takes to clear up is anyone’s guess but for all fans we should hope he ends up in a cell for a long time!!!! HE is the true CANCER to UT sports!!!!!

I do not disagree that their are some serious leadership issues in dispersing power in athletic, particularly football, affairs.

However, there are many ways to accomplish the goal of correcting those issues.

I understand how many, especially younger, fans believe that the best approach is the current approach. It gives them a sense of power and validity in an arena where they get it most.

With this approach, I think UT will take a few steps backwards before it can truly take a step forward. Just my opinion.

I can't remember the username for the poster, but I believe he was correct.

This is a necessary fight. Because of that, in a long term view, this is a "win".

However, in the short term (and we're probably talking several years here), there will be a price to pay for this fight.

The other problem is.....you don't know which side will win the fight which means....it could still be a long term problem if the wrong side wins.

It's been a long-term problem.
Status quo was not working.
Fans flipped the field.

I don't mind your disagreeing.

Maybe you can give some thoughtful reasoning behind your opinions.

Try sticking with this conversation rather than creating false narratives and outside characters.

Who am I kidding, you can't do that.

Fulmer as AD will be a HUGE mistake!

All serious coaches want to know who their boss/AD is going to be for several years and that there's stability at the AD position.

Fulmer is NOT that guy and he's NOT qualified to be our AD.

Blackburn should have been hired as our AD after Hart and most on here know that.

Right this minute, before the press release of Fulmer as our AD, we all need to protest and blow up social media to hire Blackburn as our AD right NOW!

Blackburn is a Tennessee guy and has worked in the AD before and he will revamp our AD, get things in good order and he'll hire us a great coaching staff that knows how to recruit against anyone because he'll know that his job is also on the line.

We all need to be screaming HIRE BLACKBURN NOW and get the fan protest going as fast as we can so we get a good coaching staff hired and they can get busy recruiting good players.

VFL...GBO!!!

You haven't been following. Top coaches didn't want to come because of Currie. Currie is gone and now we will land a coach.

The issues are much bigger than Currie.

If you have followed for a while, you will see that the issues were here before Currie.

Currie did need to go but this timing was not the best.

As I said, you have proven that you cannot have a thoughtful conversation.

Your approach seems much like Butch Jones, rhetoric.

I wish you well.

I'll take the bait. WE just want a coach that can put a competitive team on the field. WE haven't had that in a long time. WE have the resources to do that. Why are WE unable to get that accomplished? WE need to figure that out and fix it.

So we revolt because he dont believe Jeff Brohm, Dave Doeren and Chad Morris can put a competative team on the field?

Its seems WE are divided on what WE want as the op put 3 things, all not football related.

Lastly, so do you beleive revolting against every coach proposed before we give them a chance to field a competative team, a good way of getting a top notch coach here?
