With the news that the Brohm deal might be close to happening. This goes for any hire we make at this point that doesn't have some MORAL issue.

We CANNOT protest this hire. If we do, it will be detrimental to our football program. Our image will be tainted for a while, we could become untouchable.

I am all for spreading your voice and voicing what coach you want as the hiring process is going on, but after this next hire, please support the coach. If you don't want to buy tickets, that is fine, but don't make a huge public scene.

That's all.

I’m not gonna protest Brohm if he’s hired. I see no reason to. I do not believe he is the best candidate but he is infinitely baggage free compared to Schiano.

I will support him if he’s hired. Until I’ve seen enough to know to no longer support him. And then I’ll call for his head. In other words just like every other P5 coaching hire should be.

Hopefully Neyland will be half-empty. Best way to make a statement.

That's fine. But if people go out and start yelling and holding signs about this hire, we will be ridiculed as hypocrites and lunatics.

I doubt anyone would protest Brohm. However, I do think its just vanilla hire. I am sure that he is a fine coach, but I don't think his motivations for taking the job are to compete with the big boys. I view this as a payday for him.

Kiffin all but made his case for a comeback and we know he wants to truly needle and beat Saban...

Absolutely NO logical reason to protest this hire.
If people do, they just want attention IMO

As I said in another thread just a minute ago, I will support whoever is hired unless it gets to a point where he shows that he's in clearly over his head. By that I mean I want to see what kind of staff he assembles, how he does at recruiting over a 2-3 year period, and the product on the field.

I will support him and our team. I will scream from the highest mountains that Currie needs to be gone and Haslam needs to have his power over the University checked.

I don't see a lot of push back coming with Brohm. It's actually a relief - in that a) it's over
b) He has head coaching experience c) Hes done ok at an engineering school, not a 9-36 record like some others d) the reaction to Schiano is not what defines us - it was justified. We can be reasonable if the hire is reasonable.

Our stock as a fanbase will go up once a hire is announced. We have been freaking out about this because we don't trust our AD to do the right thing, not because we are psycho.

Not going to get up in arms over Brhom but its kinda just "Meh" here we go again with a midmajor, unproven success. Meanwhile next year someone in SEC hires Kiffy and we are looking at Bamma+GA+Kiffy team. Sigh. Maybe we can get to be a solid 8-9 win team with Brohm tho, who knows?

It's not about the coach at this point. The frustration is with the BOT, UT Admin, and Currie.

I don't see how any of this doesn't go from what you seen Sunday to a full press court nuclear explosion untill Currie is fired.

Glad to hear almost all are in agreement with the OP.

FTR, I would be pleased with Brohm. We aren't going to get the sizzle we wanted with this hire, but he's pretty solid with a high upside. Could be great. We'll see.

Okay everyone you've been given your marching orders. :)
Will Brohm be capable of going toe to toe with smart, mullen and muschamp. Can he alter the balance of power in our division.

Hopefully today, but definitely by Sunday evening after the Conference Championship games.

Looks like Brohm, Morris or Leech with Gundy supposedly out.

FWIW, I'm available for $7million a year and a nicely equipped truck, access to private jet. I have no coaching experience but would be a major upgrade over CBJ. Just Sayin!

Calm down. We'll be alright.

Yes, we will be alright. Let's face some reality! First, he's a good person, but not a great coach. Secondly, He will never ever beat Florida, Georgia or Alabama. This is a given. He will be out coached on every front. This being said, if it's OK with UT to lose these games every year then I guess I have to accept it. However, when this is all said and done, two people need to be FIRED. Currier and Davenport. They made a mockery of UT's rich tradition in football.

There’s not one person that post on this site on a regular basis that is gonna ever be satisfied. Fans cried until Fulmer was gone and then cried when Kiffin done his deal. Then Dooley done himself in and everybody cried until Jones was fired. The ad sucks I know ,but let things run their course. There isn’t any of us that could coach this team. Just enough already. I would have been very pissed with Schiano and am glad it didn’t happen, but I have to agree with the original post, more protest will harm VOL NATION.

It is well known Brohm wants the ND or Louisville job. Soon as he gets those opportunities be will leave. TN is setting itself up for failure again. But that is the TN way

Well everyone already is pretty sure we are, but another protest will leave no doubt.

I get the points the protesters had, and in a way, I can appreciate their intentions. And if there had been solid hard evidence to back that hasty response? Maybe the whole world would agree with it. That just isn't the case.

You can't play the rook twice in the same hand. Whoever gets hired, let's not protest because we don't like his record. Like VEKZY said, it will just hurt the program. Let's wait a couple of years before trying to make bad history again.

That is why you make his buy out ridiculous. I dont have much faith in Currie but hopefully he knows these facts as well and the contract reflects it
