Vol fans should be grateful to Stoops for Exposing Leach

Do you think OU has improved since the Cincy game? What happened vs UCONN? Wasn't Cincy favored in that 26 point defeat?

I say to heck with Leach and Kelly and give me Houston Nutt!! Won @ UF and @ LSU!!

1. Cincy lost their starting QB in that game. Had he been able to play the whole game, Cincy would have maybe kept it just as competitive for 60 minutes... maybe

2. By the time they played UConn, Cincy had gotten down to it's 3rd string QB...

Tony Pike and Chazz Anderson combined to throw for 259 yards for Cincinnati (5-2, 1-1). Pike started for the first time since breaking his left (non-throwing) arm against Akron on Sept. 27, but only made it through the first half.

He was 10-of-27 for 136 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but lost the feeling in his left hand, forcing Anderson to take over after intermission. He was 9-of-20 for 123 yards and two interceptions.

I'm not saying Kelly is a bad coach.....but, Leach+Tennessee= SEC Champions in 3 years
Why do you think this. To my knowledge Leach cannot win the Big 12 south much less the entire big 12, what makes you think he can win in the SEC. Give me a break, Leach=Hal Mummy plain and simple.

Willie Shoemaker was the greatest jockey ever, but he never won the Kentucky Derby riding a mule.

The question isn't what can [insert your coach here] do with their current players/resources, but what can [insert your coach here] do with Tenn's players/resources.

Good grief. Some of you guys make no sense. It's like you're watching David fight 8 Goliaths and get mad at David when one of the Goliaths win one. Are you clueless? They got beat by O KLA HO MA.....not Marshall. Oklahoma drills lots of people...often. That's where I would like to get to....where Oklahoma is now.

Texas Tech is in Lubbock, TX. He basically recruits to a literal crapbox. He has gotten players to overachieve at every stop he has been at. Stoops called his name when he needed an OC at Oklahoma. I will take Bob Stoop's opinion that the man can coach.

Now, Davis did the same thing yesterday.......is he off your list? Is it down to Kelly or Kiffin? Kiffin's a bit unproven too but with the right mix of coordinators, might get it done.

Kelly's having success similar to Leach's, he's just not playing the competition Leach is. He's a hotshot young coach but still comes along with questions. He beat a Pitt team yesterday that lost to Bowling Green & Rutgers for goodness sake. Still, a W is a W & like Leach, he's doing a lot with not much.

I think you give Kelly or Leach the chance to play with UT's atheletes and good things will happen. I'm just not sold on Kiffin.

Answer me this.....if Kelly or Leach were coaching Oklahoma, what would the outcome have been yesterday?

That game made my mind up for me. No Leach!

. . .This is exactly the attitude that a significant number of people on this board voice over and over again. . .that a single Loss or two can totally change the value of a man and coach! (Not that I am a big Leach advocate) Incredible. . .Just watch, we'll get a new coach in here, everyone will be excited and optimistic, then a Loss or two will undoubtedly occur, and the same people will immediately come out and trash the new coach! They'll say what a mistake we made and that 4 or 5 other coaches would have been the best choice. Trust me. . .it won't take long! So. . . many on this board loved Leach, then he lost a game. I suppose that one Loss took away all his coaching ability! :banghead2:

. . .absolutely ridiculous. :mega_shok:

Cincinnati gave up 52 to OU as well :)

All 3 of our supposed top prospects must suck...Leach, Kelly, and Davis.

Bunch of losers. Guess we can mark Jeff Fisher off the list now, the Titans lost today.

I guess as of now the only coaches we can go after are:

Saban - Alabama
Whittingham - Utah
Peterson - Boise St
Hoke - Ball St

Pretty obvious that these guys are the only ones worthy or capable to come here and coach....I am sure one if not all of these guys will lose between now and the end of Bowl season.

Just being sarcastic, it does however seem as this is what most people want. A coach that is perfect....just not gonna happen

Dead on!! Excellent Post!! :clapping:

Of all the coaches we are looking that, Leach is the only one who has everything riding on the achievements of this season. And in the biggest game of his career, he lost by 44 points. I don't think Leach was a serious candidate, but hopefully that can put all the discussion to rest.

If UT gets Hoke from Ball St., maybe he can hire his brother Jon as D-coordinator, who is currently the LB coach with the Houston Texans and former UF D-coordinator.

He was coaching the Texas Tech Red Raiders against the Oklahoma Sooners. I guess 'cause Davy Crockett didn't defeat the 2,500 Mexican soldiers he couldn't shoot worth a damn.

I mean really, how many times does the guy have to overachieve with less to get some respect?

I don't know why people are sold on Kiffin actually. He recruited in a hotbed of talent to the only game in town really. Then he crapped out at Oakland (ok, who wouldn't with Davis). What's he done more than Leach? Kelly's a better prospect to me than Kiffin but Leach has overachieved everywhere he's been as well.

I'm not sure, but this may be the first year he is actually doing that.

What? They beat Texas this year and Oklahoma last year. They are competing with some regularity with Texas and Oklahoma. They are actually worried about playing Texas Tech. Again, keep in mind we are talking about Texas Tech....a school located south of the bunghole of America.

That game made my mind up for me. No Leach!

You're kidding....right? Leach's TT team beats #1 ranked Texas...then the following week he beats the #6 ranked OSU...and he's been "exposed" for losing to a very good OK team? If you watched the same game I did....that was by no means any indication of Leach's ability to coach. Look at Leach's offenseive stats that his system produces. Please..........look up the numbers. I guess Stanford "exposed" Pete Carrol last year. No one should EVER try to lure Pete away from SC because he's been "exposed". I guess Ole Miss "exposed" Urban Meyer this year too huh? No one wants Urban coaching their team because of he's been "exposed"?
C'mon...think about it will ya?

His no defense game plan?

He puts all of his best athletes on defense, and focuses most of his attention there as well.

Just like Fulmer has the tendency to move alot of the really good athletes to defense - Vinson for example.
