Vol fans in Nashville area

I will be in Nashville beginning this Sunday night for the CMA Awards next week. Any Vol fans that want to meet and grab a drink and talk Vol sports, let me know. I'll be staying downtown at the Vanderbilt Hotel but would love to take the cab ride anywhere in the city!

Up here in Indiana, its very difficult to find Vol fans to chat with with the exception of Indyvol!

I wish I could be there man. I know how you feel though. I live in Indiana.. not far from ND.
Alot of people around here think ND is just the greatest team ever. I have told people I would like to see ND play an SEC schedule. They probably wouldnt do so well then. Not that they are doing well this year anyhow.. LOL

You can purchase combative bottles at the distillery, it is a dry county but they sell select years and special anniversary bottles on sight. Bottles that are not meant for drinking.

Who wants to drink a $100 bottle of whiskey? Go 15 minutes down the road and hit up the liquor store.

Some do. My dad bought one and I have never seen him have more than 6 drinks of anything my entire life. according to the tour guide these things are quite collectable.

I could never collect them though, unless it was the glass alone that was the collectors item.

I can really not imagine a more perfect hell than living a life with a bottle of whiskey that you can not open.

Actually, we buy a bottle when we pass back thru Murfreesboro! Most of the bottles are not priced that high but I agree, I would have a hard time not opening it when I ran dry at home.

TNWOOZIE, thanks for the advice, no drinking and driving for us...we will take a cab from the hotel down to 2nd avenue and then awards night we have a limo rented to take us to Shoneys for a late night/early morning breakfast after attending the post award show parties downtown and out on music row.

Volszealot...where do you live? How close to ND are you? I work in Warsaw, so I am less than an hours drive to ND campus from work.

And yes, Tootsies is full of tourists...but I love that bar, plus you never know who will walk in and take the stage.

We are heading down Sunday morning, would love to catch the Titans game, but dont have tickets.

I have never had this "Silver Select" before. We always goto Lynchburg on the Monday of the CMA Awards week. Can I buy a FULL bottle of this stuff at the distillery?

If so, its GAME ON!
Nah man unless you steal one you arent going to be able to buy "Silver Select" in the US....It's 100% alchohol....overseas only, come to Dover while you are in and I will give you a shot of it though....Good stuff!!!

Judging by this thread I may be onto a reward if I turn in a few of your names. From Fox news:

$1 Million Worth of Rare Jack Daniels Whiskey Bottles Seized

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — State agents are sorting through some 2,400 bottles of Jack Daniel whiskey estimated to cost $1 million found in storage buildings.
The bottles were found following an investigation into possible illegal sales of whiskey by two businesses in this southern Middle Tennessee town where the Jack Daniel distillery is located.
No one has been arrested.
Authorities said they received permission to search two storage buildings on Highway 55 last weekend and found hundreds of bottles of Jacks Daniel's.
"There are bottles here that are not even sold in this county," said Mike Cawthorn, senior agent in charge of the Nashville office of the Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission. "There are bottles of Jack Daniel's here that are to be sold only in Italy and Spain."
Officials said the rarity of the bottles helped drive up the value of the find.
Danielle Elks, executive director of the ABC, said Thursday one bottle dates back to 1914. She told WSMV-TV of Nashville it was still sealed and worth about $10,000.
"This is a major enterprise," Cawthorn told The Tullahoma News. "Every time we turn around, there's something new."

Some of the illegal whiskey also was found in a motel in Nashville.
Moore County Sheriff Mark Logan said there was enough whiskey recovered to fill a trailer and truck that then transported it to Nashville for storage.
Authorities said they were working with officials from the Jack Daniel distillery to determine how the whiskey was obtained.
Agents said anyone arrested could face charges of possession of untaxed whiskey.
Some of the whiskey could be auctioned off but most of it will be destroyed.
A Web site helped tip agents off about the whiskey. The investigation is continuing.
An after-hours Associated Press call to the ABC office in Nashville was not returned Thursday night.
Lynchburg is 65 miles southeast of Nashville.
