What a bunch of dummies, most notably the morons in the trees themselves, followed closely by mister wolf, and the lady who was concerned that the fence posts may be damaging the roots of the trees.

Maybe some UT fans can fire up a Stihl and knock the buggers over in a victory celebration. Either that or send up a bowl full of granola and soy milk 'contaminated' with beef broth.

if you do beat us the least you could do is destroy those stupid oaks.

This was the most funny thing I have seen all day. I also think it is funny that the 2 guys they interviewed talked like hicks. I can hear the stereotypes now.

Maybe some of those Tennessee folks will take them a deer stand....

Why? Our mascot is a coon hound and a guy with a rifle. Smokey trees em and he shoots em out! We may become Cal's favorite visiting team ever.

Maybe if we beat them bad enough they will realize trees may be a better investment than trying to compete in Div. 1 sports.

A football fan walks into a small shop in Berekley. He spots a bottle labeled "Florida brains" , $5 an ounce. He asks the clerk if there are any other bottles.

The clerk replies, "Well, we've got Tennessee brains for $10 an ounce, and California football brains for $1,000,000 an ounce."

The man says, "Why the big difference in price?"

The clerk answers,"Do you know how many California football players we have to kill to get an ounce of brains!"

I like the comment that the fence erectors are hurting the trees roots...what idiots

As truely great Volunteers we should bring these Tree Hugging Fairies a present...Bags of Oranges from the big Orange Nation and then we can throw them as hard as we can to them...1st one to knock three out of the trees wins!

I'll buy the oranges.

on the other hand...

Those oaks do look very mature and I'm sure there are some folks who consider that grove an integral part of their community. Add in the fact that those trees are sitting on publicly owned land and I think there is a legitimate issue regardless of the cleanliness or socio-economic status of the protesters.

i walked by that grove every day for 3 years. I never once saw someone hanging out there. It's a mudhole. No one cared until they said they were tearing it down.
