no, but it certainly has a bearing on my comfort level with that doctor.

When I go in in for Surgery, I sure as hell don't want my surgeon trying to comfort me with " What we's gonna do now her ina minute, is we's gonna...."

Catch my drift?

I think that may say more about you than him LOL.

I don't care if he can even speak english as long as he is good with the knife and has good outcomes.

He can be a wus, a jerk, or a nice guy, doesn't matter to me if he is a good surgeon.

I am not going to him for his accent or lack of accent, I am going to him for his intelligence and his surgical ability.

That's one of my pet peeves with this board, people try to make judgements on other people based on spelling, sentence structure, accents etc. It's reeks of ivory tower elitism. I will say that I am fortunate to live in an area where these two worlds collide and nothing is more fun than to see the face of one of those proper speaking elitist who thinks he is so much more enlightened than the common people completely and totally demolished by some intelligent guy that sounds more like Forrest Gump than the physics professor he really is. That's pretty fun to watch.

Yep, I shirly do.

Seriously though... I really do agree with you. One of the smartest guys I know never got past the tenth grade.... He dropped out of HS, started his own trucking company and is now a multi-millionaire.... To talk to him he doesn't sound like he has two brain cells to rub together, but a lot of the folks who made fun of him in school are now calling him "Boss".... Now THAT'S funny!

Nope. Never seen anything like it really. Someone can have a very nice post with good points and if it has a typo 15 people will ridicule him/her for it and completely ignore the point.

I have made the comment before that I would like to see how some of these "police" act in real life. Steve Erkle comes to mind.

The man in your avitar is exactly what I am talking about. He is an extremely intelligent person, but many of the posters on here would call him a "bubba" because of his accent and completely miss the wealth of knowledge he has.

Bill Dance was a pioneer in his field.

Has anyone ever turned Volcalls into a drinking game? Ill sign off and read...

No, but if you take a drink of beer everytime time you hear "tebow" during a cbs broadcast of a fla game, or a shot of liquor every time you hear 'tebow' during a cbs broadcast of any other game, you'll be hammered by the second quarter.

I'm not saying you have to not have an accent to be intelligent. Having an accent is not the same as not being able to speak or read. I'm black and I have a southern accent, people think I'm stupid until they actually talk to me.

What I am saying is that if English is your first language, you should learn how to speak it. William from McMinnville just performed an ABORTION of grammar!

William from McMinnville probably speaks English just fine for his area of the country. William may actually be one of the real rocket scientists that works at AEDC in Tullahoma at the UT Space Institute, or he may be a regular joe that builds air conditioners at Carrier. My point is that you can't tell anything about a persons intelligence based on their accent.

Supposedly Ma Bell says middle Ohio has the most perfect English in the US but according to some that means they are the smartest in the US too because they speak the most proper English.

I know it doesn't matter either way. It's just one of my pet peeves. I frequent many different boards and they are all casual. Anything goes from poor spelling to the newer text typing. It's like a real conversation. Then you come over hear and it's like you are back in English Comp class LOL.

That guy was horrible. I really wonder what Kiffin is thinking when he does this show.

He really did sound down tonight? Any speculation as to why?

I missed layla. Please post what she said.
