Vol Calls....

Totally inappropriate question, same as telling him as the coach he does not know what he is doing at the QB position.

Obviously you didn't hear the call... I didn't post exactly what I said.

I said "Obviously you go into the game with a starting QB and you'd like to stick with that guy but are you the type of coach that believes in making a QB change in the middle of a game if the current QB is not performing well enough to win the ball game?"

Some coaches stick with a guy no matter what. And I wanted to see if he's that type of coach. It's a fair question and he answered it very appropriately.

That was not a question that was a caller forcing his opinion as to what he would like to see the coach do in the game...Big Difference

Again, obviously you didn't hear my call because you are completely taking my OP out of context.

:):):rock::eek:k::eek:k::crazy::thumbsup: Just passing along a message i was told, if you watch The Lane Kiffin Show you can kinda tell they dont care for each other. Kesling still <3's Fulmer though.

Yep, I know what you mean.

We have been spoiled in that we have had a good run of QB's and now it seems we can't get good play from a QB for anything.

The worst thing is that is a game we SHOULD have won. Just like every other sport the best team doesn't always win but it sure is harder on ya when you know that you should have won and let one slip through your hands.

I still think this staff will turn us around sooner than most think. That said this could be another long year.

3 points:

1. I don't know that we've been "spoiled" by QBs. Aside from Manning, we haven't exactly been QBU. Other than PM, we really had a string of "serviceable" QBs. No disrespect to the likes of Heath Shuler, Tee Martin, the Clausens, or Ainge...but I wouldn't say that any of them were amongst the elite.

2. We ARE left with the feeling that, despite the catastrophies at QB and OL play, with 1st and goal in the 4th quarter, we should have won the game. The inability to punch it in from the 3 or 4 with two plays is inexcusable.

3. I shared your (false) sense of security that this staff could turn it around pretty quickly. I don't any longer. Without a Field General capable of getting the ball to open receivers and without an offensive line capable of giving the QB or RBs a chance to make plays, it's just not going to happen this year. I have now resorted to believing that we will begin shaping a QB next year and will see the rebuilding process take 2-3 years.

Dear Jon,

You are correct; thank you for pointing out the flawed blame. We should all remember your 5-star recruiting status and give you a fair chance. After all, you've really only have one sub-par game thus far, right?

Sincerely,

2008

I hope i don't offend to many people here, but i still can't stand Kessling's voice and his calling of the games. What makes it worse for me is that i have a friend that his dad worked for UT over 35 years and said that Kessling is a total #$^ hole. Why in Gods name can't we get someone else???

I know I am telling my age, but I have listened to Vols football since my youth when George Mooney and Bob Fox called the games. Truthfully, Bob Kessling is the WORST ANNOUNCER UT has ever had.

Can UT hire a gofer to at least screen these calls to keep all the morons and idiots off the air with useless comments?
