After reading all these doom and gloom threads bashing Dooley and our Football program, I am convinced that most of these threads are being started by trolls.....

I can't imagine that Vol fans would be so dumb to start threads like this, that could be used to negatively recruit against us, and also to make recruits who visit blog sites very uneasy about our fanbase.

I would be shocked if trolls are not the ones starting most of these ridiculous threads..... I really wish the mods would either ban trolls from coming in here and starting negative threads, or just merge all the negative threads into 1 massive Nega-thread.......

Sad but true. Sometimes it is so obvious what is going on. This is a great site , but it's just too easy for outsiders to take advantage of. Some stuff needs to be said. After the Kentucky game , I questioned this staff and the future of this program. But the last thing we need is another change for 2012. That seems to be the agenda. Think about it. A change right now would kill this program and we all know it's not happening right now. But if it did , it's a way to keep us down. It's the right time if you are a fan of another school. I'm not saying give Dooley forever , but for the love of God , considering what he walked into , 2 years is NOT enough. Next season will be the year to make that decision. The rumors that are "right on time" hurt this team without a doubt. The only thing that would backfire on our enemies if something went down is the perfect hire. They and most of us have no faith in that happening. Who were we going to get after the last 4 years of hell? Dooley may dig himself out of this hole , but 2 years is not enough time to prove anything. Not with what he walked into. He could turn it all around and make this work , but if he doesn't this will look like a much better job with the depth we are building.

I am not a member of any rival websites. I look around sometimes , but I don't see this amount of negativity anywhere. Unless it's after a loss and for the most part , it's cleaned up and the mood changes after a day or so. I know alot of teams aren't dealing with the issues we are , but the drama here is just insane. If they are keeping the "trolls" for hits , that is really sad. I am not telling the people who run this place what to do , but if it keeps going this way the word VOL doesn't belong. Just change it to Nation. I get so sick of Florida fans telling us how bad they have it , but at least they let it be known who they are. Same with Bama fans. Though they don't complain lately. Winning will help that of course. But it's the people who signed up in , let's say November of this year and all they do is post the same **** in a different way in every single thread they can find. You know who you are. It actually makes you respect the few who you know are Vol fans , that are consistent with their views , not newbies with a hidden agenda. And I'm not saying there aren't some doing the same stuff that have been here for years. There are too many here not to have more than a few. Thing is I'm not sure anything will ever be done about it , but I agree with the op. No disrespect to anyone , this is jmo.

You need to ignore the nega vols or entire threads by using the ignore function or thread tools. You can actually ignore threads and I know that when people quote them this does not work but its the only way to read through the garbage. I haven't ignored anybody due to the fact that I frequent the site enough too have a mental list of posters who are just complete idiots.( just scroll past and definitely do not quote) You can't rid all the trolls and definitely some are just speaking the truth on a public message board. The ones that post the same crap about Dooley and the program in every thread verbatim is comical to me. Volnation is a great site and these little insights will help anyone who is bothered by the constant banter these trolls feed off of calling them out for their ignorant posts.

Oh I know there is no way to get rid of all of them. I also know who to ignore , but just like you , I don't do it because they will be quoted by someone anyway. And like I said , I agree , this is a great site. If it was that big of a deal I'd leave. My problem is the image it gives about our program and that it eventually hurts recruiting. If I am a senior and trying to make a decision , 10 threads about the coach being fired and sucking would have an impact on my decision. Not only that , but the radio hacks read this site for an hour and turn it into a week long show. I'm sure some of them are posting here hyping up their show. They would be a fool not to take advantage. I appreciate the advice and I know there is nothing I can do to change what happens on a public message board. But you can't blame me for wanting it to be a little less anti-Tennessee. I know things are bad right now , but to continue to pour gas on the fire (especially from outsiders) is not going to help us going foward. What other option do we have at the moment? I guess I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation and hopefully things will turn around.

They don't have to say anything. All they have to do is look at a few websites. I mean honestly , why would they say they like a school but the board changed their mind? The recruits read this site and I know you are smart enough to realize this. When I mentioned actually respecting a few people who you know are Tennessee fans , but stick with their opinions , I was talking about posters like you. You may hate the situation enough to talk about the bad and rarely mention anything positive , but you are consistent in what you post. Not many people here like your opinion , but you don't troll the **** out of this board hoping things will stay this way forever.

I don't agree with much of anything he posts , but I don't consider him a troll. More like a fair weather fan imo. Most of the time I just laugh because I know what he is going to post before I even read it. You are right about him being on Kiffin's sack though. :eek:lol:

Exactly....and saying Dooley is a stand up dude...we all want him to fix the train wreck he inherited but you really doubt he makes it past next season is simply an opinion....based on what has been put out on the field. I like the guy but given how backwards this team went in all phases of the game as the season went forward...how could you not think it is going to get worse? You ONLY pray that it gets better.

Recruits may...may not look at message boards but it is the body of work from all parts of the football program that factors into their decision....with as bad as it looked last season I'm really shocked we have the committs still that we do. These kids must really really want to wear the orange and white.

If you question the actions of George W. Bush, you are unpatriotic. If you question the direction of this team, you are a troll, negavol, take your pick.

Volnation is a place to express your opinions on the team. If you disagree with that opinion, then explain why. If you cant emotionally handle someone else's opinion, maybe you shouldnt visit the board anymore.

And at the end of the day, all we have to do is win baby and this negativity goes away. Thats no different than any fan base.

Looking through the eyes of a 17 to 18 year old who has built a relationship with the staff which is the main reason a recruit chooses a team in the first place, comes here and reads all the fire the staff threads, posts has to influence their decision. It's not like these recruits are old enough to remember when this program was on top, nor can this program afford recruits going elsewhere.

I am totally convinced those who read the above and think it is BS and has no impact on whether a recruit signs to come here or not, is either a troll or has a vendetta against the team. How many months, threads and posts have to be posted on the same tiring topic? Face the facts, there is not a single fan on this board who is not aware of the condition of this program and its leadership on the field being in question, those blasting this staff everyday are not more football knowledgeable than other fans.

To those who say either ignore their posts, freedom of speech or it is their right to say how they feel, grow up! The only way we get this program back to respect is to start getting quality players on the field, the coaching situation will take care of itself in due time. In order to truly access this staff don't you think we need more players who would be starters on other SEC teams rather than the small handful we currently have? Yes I am aware it is the coaches job to get these kids ready to play but when you have 90% of your 2 deep roster that would be sitting on the bench at 90% of all the other SEC schools, this staff is not playing on a level playing field.

Lets get the talent in here, show some support, be positive or keep the negativity down to a minimum because I want to see some talent take the field and as I stated earlier, the coaching thing will take care of itself one way or another.

Just because you don't hear them say it, does not mean it's not true.

Sort of like, you don't hear people saying how negative you always are...oh wait, bad example.
