One of the top overall players in the country for the class of 2011 is Chandler, Arizona (Hamilton) Christian Westerman. The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder is having another dominant season for the defending Arizona state champion and perennial powerhouse, Hamilton Huskies. Vol Nation caught up Christian’s father, who is [...]

Thanks Freak. I moved to Chandler from Maryville 2 years ago and watch these kids play every week and since my daughter dates their LT I have the football players over at the house all the time. Christian, as well as several other players will play D-1 ball. I try to sell our Vols to these kids every chance I get, and if they get out of the film room next Saturday in time will be taking a group to our UT Aulm watch party for Alabama. This coaching staff at Hamilton has a few former NFL guys on staff and because of the teams ties to coach Wiz and the Cardinals are getting coaching that maybe 1% of high schoolers nationwide get. I'm pushing my dauighters boyfriend to try and get some work at tight end. He's a little small for tackle right now at 6-5 240, but has great hands and footwork.

If I hear anything new from Christian or his family I'll let everyone know.

Someone should forward the article to Coach O or Chaney. Sounds like they are very high if they are putting that much effort forward to get a written offer in hand.

That would be great. Thank you.

Sounds to me like Kiffin needs to get in touch with this family pronto, get the written offer there pronto and follow up to make sure it's in hand. Knowing our need at the position, last thing we need is to screw around on this guy.

[...] Hamilton is a football factory in AZ they get the best coaching and they have a good track program! which is what we are taught in SEC country! U will be amazed in the small amount of football coaches in Arizona who will let there kids run track

In an effort to get Tyler over here and in front of the UT staff I forgot to let you guys know that I spent some time with Christian ( he helped us load our furniture when we moved a couple weeks ago) and talked with his dad some before we left AZ. I think the current staff should at least reach out to Christian, even though he is verbally committed to Texas. His dad Chris wanted Christian to at least take a look at us because of the SEC and our history of putting UT lineman in the NFL. The comments in this article

Hamilton lineman Westerman is a Texas-sized recruit - MaxPreps News

Some unhappy longhorns 'round here. Generally not a whole lot of drama for them this time of year... most of their recruits have been locked up since last February.

He was a bit of a disappointment in many people's eyes. Still very young though. Hope he works it out.
