i grew up workin on my granddads farm, but he sold it when i was round bout 14. then one summer during college i was living in h'ville so i cld play ball w/ da guys and i had 2 jobs. worked at a place called Tenders, it was a chicken and wing place, and then worked on the boosters 100 acre farm as well. i can't remember a hotter summer than that one. that's where i go fishin. its bout 10 mins from my house

wow that does blow. ya it was hot, i had to wear jeans because i was clearing out the fence line. saw several snakes that summer.

Yall would be surprised how quickly you get used to it. We have some non native Texans living next door. They moved here from VA and they are perfectly fine now with it. You can almost tell instantly when the temp drops below 90 in the evenings. Lots of folks tend to migrate outside to their porches or randomly show up at my little homemade sports bar I turned the garage into. Its always, "Hey, saw you were out, sure is nice tonight, gotta a cold one." Im usually overly hospitable.

when we would get off work at the mill and head up on the hill 2 or3 of us would always buy beer but 7 or 8 would show up to drink em...

Naaaah, they're all good people. Most of the time they help out restocking the beer fridge and its kinda known, when you bring it in, you've just lost whatever you leave. I dont recall anyone coming over, have 3 out of a 18 pack, and then packing back up to take it with em. Thus, I'm always well stocked and frankly, rarely buy beer for myself anymore.

I had a guy show up last week with some shine. He'd been in Alabama and had a cousin that gave him three mason jars. He gave me two to keep in the freezer.

I tell you what I have done, speaking of tip jar. I told the college kid next door, yall are more than welcome to come over. Play the playstation, wii, ping pong, darts whatever. The deal is yall need to make sure there is always batteries for all the remotes, ping pong balls if yall lose em or tear em up, and dont use my good darts. I've never had a problem.

I remember 1 new years morning after we had worked night shift we climbed up in the back of an empty trailer with a jar of shine and a couple of 12 packs. This one mexican took the jar and took 2 huge gulps. about 10 min later he laid his head over on the side of the trailer and it was all we could do to get him to wake up when it was time to go home.
