Emilien was offered this week by UT, SC, Kentucky, & Purdue. He sees Tennessee as a good school with a good campus and a very good football program. He says he'll take an official visit. His top 3: South Florida, Tennessee, & Ohio State. Emilien's teammates in the secondary include Brandon McGee (Rivals100, likely top 5 in FL) & Josh Robinson. Robinson likes Tennessee and plans to take an official visit as well. McGee said he's going to try and make a Tennessee visit, but no word on if he'll take an official yet.

By Adam Jardy...Plans on taking officials to Florida (who he maintains HAS offered), Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Ohio State may get one but have fallen on the list due to the number of safeties already in the class.

cb I would think, maybe safety

Maybe I've gotten spoiled with guys like EB (who we thought would play CB) and Vinson...but is his speed OK for CB? He would probably need to add some muscle to play safety - but looks like a good recruit.

if you give most recruits a year in a Div 1 weight training program you will see serious results. Although, when I was in school the big rumor was that Dale Carter never lifted a weight while he was on the Hill.

Absolutely...I'm generally not too worried about weight unless their is a serious mismatch...15-20 lbs. of muscle is very possible by his sophomore year.

By Newberg....talks about recovering from a torn ACL which he sustained in July. Top 6 of North Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida & Stanford. Wants to make a decision on November 23rd, which is his birthday.

"Tennessee plays in the SEC and I would love to play in that league. Their coaching staff is wonderful and I coach (Philip) Fulmer just signed an extension. They have stability and that means something too."

Emilien, 6-1 and 186 pounds, is from Lauderhill (Fla.) Plantation High School. Emilien is a four-star prospect with super grades (3.8 overall GPA and 3.5 core GPA). Most schools have continued to recruit him despite the injury.

Rodriguez welcomes more visitors
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 | Print Entry

With his Michigan Wolverines off to an uncharacteristic 2-5 start, there is no doubt coach Rich Rodriguez needs to add talent to his roster that will fit his system. Rodriguez has done well thus far on the recruiting front. His current group of 18 commitments is the country's No. 11 recruiting class in the latest ESPN.com rankings.
This weekend, with Michigan State headed to Ann Arbor for the big in-state rivalry game, Rodriguez will welcome in a number of prospects on official visits. Two of those prospects are teammates Vlad Emilien and Josh Robinson (Plantation, Fla.).
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Emilien made an official visit to Wisconsin the weekend of Oct. 11 when the Badgers played Ohio State. In addition to Michigan this weekend, he also has a trip scheduled to Stanford the weekend of Nov. 15. Ohio State, South Florida and Wake Forest are the other schools Emilien is interested in.
"All of them are still pretty equal," Emilien said. "I'll take my visits and see how things go."
Robinson has a similar number of schools on his list, but unlike Emilien, Robinson has a couple leaders. He says Central Florida and South Florida are his favorites followed by Florida International, Michigan and Georgia.
Rodriguez is hoping to change Robinson's thinking this weekend.
"I really don't know what to expect at Michigan," Robinson said. "I'll go in with an open mind and see what they have to offer."
After his official visit to Michigan this weekend, Robinson has a trip scheduled to Central Florida Nov. 1. He was supposed to visit Georgia last weekend but said the Bulldogs cancelled the trip and he is not sure if it will be rescheduled. Robinson also mentions Clemson and South Carolina as being in the mix.
The 5-10 and 180-pound Robinson sprained the MCL in his left knee early in the season. He is back in action but only playing on offense; he has 10 catches for more than 200 yards in four games.
"Michigan is recruiting me as a wide receiver," Robinson said. "I'm getting recruited as a wide receiver or a cornerback, but mostly as a cornerback. Either one is OK with me -- whichever position I can play the earliest."
Also scheduled to make official visits to Michigan this weekend are offensive lineman Travis Bond (Windsor, N.C./Bertie) and Donavan Hicks (Cartersville, Ga.), who like Robinson, is a fine athlete who could play on either side of the ball in college.
