I know Dooley has closed very well the last two years, but we need a faster start if we are to have the constant top five to ten classes that we need to win.

That will come with winning, success breeds success. Right now recruits are still skeptical about our program (and rightfully so). Once they see we are indeed a program on the rise, we'll get our share of elite athletes. Really the key is getting them on campus. I don't know if you noticed but just about every 2011 class recruit that had an on campus visit with us signed with us.

When do we bring in high school camp athletes, some time in June?

I think so. One thing I think people are going to have to come to grips with is that Dooley is going to have to be allowed to re-build this program "brick by brick." I love Tennesee but we are NOT Alabama. We are not going to have some meteoric resurection like Bama did with Saban. Tennessee is a completely different program with completely different, and more challenging issues. It's going to take time. It's like Dooley has said. Right now the focus needs to be on the process and progress.

I'm not sure I agree with this completely. Yeah, we're not a top 3 all-time program, but we are a top 10. We should expect big time results.

And we will get them....if we're patient. Dooley is doing things right. Not just for the near future but he also laying a foundation that will reap rewards in the long run.

Also, Fulmer lovers are not going to want to hear this but the truth is he stood on the shoulders of what Majors spent over a decade building at Tennessee and simply took the next step. That's why it seems to so many that Fulmer took over and just immediatley started dominating the 90's. That would have NEVER been possible without all the hard work that Majors and his staff (Fulmer included) put into the program all those years prior.

So, thus far, it's Imani Cross and Corey Smith.

What is the deal with Corey Smith having to go JuCo? I watched his announcement video an something looks shady. There's no real explanation as to what all is going on there.

Cross is a nice RB prospect, but he definitely has a ways to improve. I would suspect that he would absolutely need a redshirt year and a bit of speed training. Nice starting piece though.

Corey Smith is versatile. Good athlete and has great moves. Flexible at Corner or WR...but my guess is that UT got him mostly for the offensive side of the ball. Just wildly curious as to what the hold is on him. I'm sure it's innocent, but you gotta be curious when you have less than half the story.

I think Cross is college ready. Emmitt Smith was a 4.5 guy and wasnt very big. Cross has size and can run over you. You dont have to be a 4.4 RB to succeed.

Emmitt Smith aside, slow small guys are not usually the ideal. If Cross has Smith's vision and ability to cut, I will be big time pumped.
