I'm currently in Abingdon. Just moved back from Indiana and I'm thinking about moving to Knoxville. Not until we get these plates done, though.

Good to see you on here.

Nice to know theres more swva vols on here. From Wise myself.

I would love to see a TN plate- SW VA VOL

The problem with VA is that so many residents of VA and especially SWVA (Im from Wise County) are stuck so far up the VA Tech Hokies *** that they can tell what he had for supper...... :banghead2:

Same problem in North Carolina. The largest alumni assn. outside of Knoxville resides in Charlotte and we cannot get plates because apparently they don't care. We have the numbers just no dedication. My wife and I ordered our plates over a year ago but no one else seems to be on board.

Sad.
Is it just for alum or anyone who wants one?

This is the latest information on getting a University of Tennessee license plate. I was asked to pass this information along. It has been in the works for quite some time and has taken way too long, in my opinion.

This was the message passed along to me:
Here is the LINK to the information you'll need to order one. Let's get this done Virginia Vols. We've waited long enough.

Was this on linked in?

I can't speak for this particular group, but the way that most specialty plates work is that if you write the check, they give you the plate.

I've never heard of a state licensing department that insists that you supply your diploma. :)

Go fer it, sign up!

My sister lives in Manassas. They have two cars so she will be doing this. Also, I have plenty of UT friends up there. I will for sure pass the message to them!

Awesome. I had some family in Manassas at one point. Tell them to spread the word. Thanks.

Yep. Im in Bristol (VA). Where were all the Hokies before Vick? We've got plenty of "roll tide" bandwagoners too.

There are quite a few Vol fans here in Marion. I will share this link and see if we can help. I have been hoping for this plate for years now!!

It took years to get them here in Georgia. Now they're everywhere. Nobody wants to send a check in until they're actually available, so they never actually become available. Good luck to you guys.

That's correct. Here in Georgia you don't need to prove you attended the university. Maybe I'll get one...

Alabama doesn't offer any out-of-state collegiate tags! I live 30 min from the TN border and I have to look at that disgusting crimson A everytime I am on the road, in a parking lot or at a drive thru! The least they could do is offer me GBO tags!

No, I think they just haven't changed it. The process is still ongoing.

I sent mine in last year and honestly forgot all about it. Any update on how much they've gotten so far? I know it wasn't really close when I received the email about it the first time.

I guess that I am the only one on here that is against out of state schools having license plates in Tennessee and therefore I am stepping on a lot of folks toes that don't live in TN. I am sorry, but I get so freaking tired of seeing GA, AL, SC, FL, etc. license plates in Knoxville I can't stand it. I know the state makes money, I know that folks that live here from other states get to show their pride, but damn if I like seeing it driving down the road on a TN license plate. Sorry, my 1.5 cents worth.
