they've been talking about this for a while haven't they?

wasn't there a story that his roommate (EB i think) used to wake up in the middle of the night to vinson screaming or whatever because his shoulder popped out of place in his sleep. they'd have to pop it back in and go to sleep.

It's an existing problem. He is having problems with it again. That was during his freshman year.

Vinson needs shoulder surgery : Football : GoVolsXtra.com
Tennessee cornerback Brent Vinson will undergo surgery to repair his ailing left shoulder after the conclusion of spring practice next month.
The junior should be ready by fall and can still participate in the remaining two weeks of spring drills, although he could be somewhat limited.
Vinson suffered a shoulder separation on March 14. The joint has been an issue for quite some time, often causing Vinson to pull himself out of practice.

Why the hell have they waited so long to fix it? He played pretty good with one arm his freshman year.

I saw him get hurt at practice on the 13th. He came off the field clutching his shoulder. Vinson had shoulder surgery in Jan. 2008, so it's not like they haven't addressed the problem.

Really what I am asking is - do you think he was overrated in HS and not playing to his potential?

My son played Basketball with him thursday at the T'rec, must just be bothersome! If it was more than just cleaning up the joint he would't still be practicing or playing rec ball!

Do you guys think Vinson is overrated?

He is the best pure athlete on the team with the possible exception of EB! Dude is a freak jumper,I want to see all these kids under Kiffin before making a judgement like that! Fulmer couldn't develop a player if his job depended on it: oh yeah it did! It was worse than a root canal watching the talent mildew on the sidelines:furious3:

I don't know any facts, but my guess that he has a problem with excessive joint laxity and recurrent subluxation. If this was the case he may or may not have problems playing Bball, or Fball for that matter, but the shoulder still pops out of joint easily and just goes dead for a while. I've seen it happen to him on the field on more than one occasion. He missed a TD saving tackle against USuCk because he could't lift his arm.

I remember EB's comments you referenced- he is a great athlete and we should not be so quick to look for Jackson. Vinson will help us win and he needs people to pray for him and he needs us all to WANT him back. He has given a lot to the VOLS and has much more to give. Dont cut him short !
