Vindication

Naw, one would think that the coaching staff would want the blame and not for the players to have it. On the contrary, I think it's %65 on the players and %35 on the coaches.

You obviously don't know how Fulmer operates then. He is the very first person to throw everyone around him (especially the players) under the bus and deny that he should have any accountability whatsoever for this team's recurrent failures.

this is sad of play calling and head coach,we have the 2 top running backs in college, and we run with them on 1st down, and get 6 to 7 yards on carry, then every time on 2nd and 3 or 4,we pass, instead of pounding the rock, and playing defense,we have bad coaching, look what alabama did with ingram and coffee, lol, what are our coaching thinking, does fulmer and clawson,so stuck on peyton manning in hte nfl, that they forget about pounding the rock, cmon fire the coaches, better coaches out there

stats,crompton a rookie,starting in the rose bowl atmosphere,and threw 42 times

running backs,5th year senior, and hardesty, got the ball 25 times all game between both together,avg.7.1 a carry between them, but still threw the ball on 2nd and 3 2nd and 5 2nd 2nd and1,i mean we have a big back and fast bcak against the pac 10 defense, fire the coach or we will never get any were.

It would be excusable but we lost to a 3rd string QB and a WAAAAY overmatched team as a whole (although i'm seriously doubting that now)
I mean they lost 3 starters in the 1stq . We got 4 picks and got 7 points off of them.
Its looking pretty bleak at the moment.

if we play like we did tonite, and just adjust to our defense that shoulda played bump up on the ucla recievers and took away the middle field, because that qb was not goin to go deep with 4 int's,his confidence was already scared, all we had to do is play ain the middles field, and bump n run,man to man,but if we play to our running game and blitz just a little more, and pound the rock at least let foster and hardesty touch the ball 40 to 45 times a game,if not more, then ya will see we will win against florida georgia, and alabama, and more.when we do ya come back to this post, and see.

Not happening. To much of the same crap year after year. Build our hopes up and blow smoke up our butts.

Do you have quotes, because I don't recall Fulmer being infamous for this. I can't tell if this is true or just more spiteful Fulmer bashing. After all of the emotion tonight, it's hard to distinguish truth from slander.

I truly hope to never see this post again. That first sentence was a doozy!

Many on here are already "unloading their tickets" and saying the coaches and QB are "worthless".

We all have a right to share our opinions, but in my view those that are totally GIVING UP THE SHIP after one game are NOT true Vol fans!

How's that for a bold post

Your smiley at the end of your post answers your on question.

I was always on the fence...torn between loyalty and common sense. Well, last night changed my mind completely. It was embarrassing. I could maybe understand if we did'nt have the talent to compete-but we do, usually year in and year out. The one common denominator to our failure to acheive in big games, and most games, is Fulmer. I'm going to cheer for our team, but I'm sick of this. So yeah, I believe.:glare:

I don't blame fulmer that offense was a piece of crap tonight how can you talk about spreading out a defense when you continue bunching up 3 WR's right by the line of scrimmage wow 12 days is a long time away

Don't blame Fulmer? You've gotta be kidding. It stops with the big guy.

Been a fan since a kid (mid70s), attended the University for four years. I think we all the right to complain. I can't understand how people don't want to hold him accountable. The money spent at this university and what the football team brings in make the performance of the program unacceptable.

I will not attend any games this year!

I'm no punter, but if I were in his situation and saw 9+ players prepared to rush me and only 6 guys in front of me, then I can do a few things. A rugby-style punt takes less time then a conventional punt, so that would be better. I could call a timout, which is what a QB does when he sees the DEF run out a formation that is effective against his play, so why shouldn't a punter do the same? Cunningham was either oblivious to the rush or ignorant of it.

I can almost guarantee UT's coaches have never taught Cunningham a rugby style punt. Watch that play again and tell me a rugby style punt would have worked. That's probably the stupidest post-UCLA quote I've read thus far.

Vindication is a little quick in my opinion. I will give the team more games before I start to go off. I remember last year after the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:State><st1:place>Cal</st1:place></st1:State> stomping and all the crap that spewed out. I was thinking this game would be close but that UT would win. There is a ton of things to point to but in the end it was poor execution on many fronts. The biggest concern I have is at QB. That has to be the most inaccurate passing display I can remember a UT QB having. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
I am a VOL faithful and will continue to be. I expect my team to be good because I am a VOL. This is one game, albeit a bad one but it is still one game. We have 11 more and then I will pass judgment on the state of our coaching staff. <o:p></o:p>

For two years I, and those who think as I do, have had to deal with the Fulamanure slurpers making excuses and propping him up. Now, it's over. He, and his Richmond reenforcements were shown to be what they are. Worthless. I hope all of you who have kissed Fulamanure's arse are happy. Tonight is the culmination of what you deserve.

they will never admit it bro. 5 more subpar years.

You can talk about coaches, skill levels, attitudes, abilities, lack of awareness or just the fact that the ability to take risk,to go for the juggler has been long lost. were to assign the blame is a blame game. The fact remains the ability or the skill or the attitude or the willingness to take the risk are lost and need to be regained.

You're right! We should have gone after the juggler long ago! Damn him and his hand/eye coordination!
