Saw this yesterday regarding Perry and Tuttle.

"UT receiver Vincent Perry has academic work do do this summer to remain eligible. DT Shy Tuttle might not be full speed until late July" -- Jimmy Hyams

It's been a tough road for Perry after redshirting last year with a knee injury suffered before the season. I hope he gets his academics straightened out.

As for Tuttle, last month Butch put his timetable for return as late June to early July, so this does seem like slight delay for him, but that may have origainlly been optimistic and just a guess by Butch.

In addition to Perry, it looks like Tennessee will be missing another wide receiver. It appears Corey Henderson, a 3-star receiver from the 2016 class, is heading to JuCo.

"Blinn Football would like to welcome Corey Henderson Jr. to the BucNation Family!!" -- BLINN FB RECRUITING

With ALL the resources that are afforded to these guys to make their grades...it seems they must contain the "desire" to achieve academic status, more than anything. I mean...if Cordarrelle Patterson can make himself eligible...ANYBODY can...

Tennessee NEEDS Shy @100%

Full speed by late July but I assume he will need some conditioning work to get back to where he was

Anybody able to list the guys who haven't made it in school since Butch arrived? There haven't been many that I can think of.

If the extra month gets Tuttle back into full strength, I'm all for erring on the side of caution and taking the extra month.

GFW... We hold you fully responsible for Perry. If I remember you are in the tutoring part of the AD. 😉😎

I agree 100%. I understand the recovery time for a big guy with this type of injury can be longer than for someone with a wide out or safety frame. Go too soon and he can re-injure. I'm sure the training staff will not be planning to expedite Mr. Tuttle.

Agreed...they have been virtually non-existent until reading this report...

As long as he is ready to blow up a bunch of jockstraps by the Georgia game, I'll be satisfied. I want to see him bring every dog on that team to heel.

I've actually been part of the tutoring portion of the AD. There is absolutely no reason for a player to be academically ineligible. The resources at the players' disposal is absurd.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about Tuttle ... Wouldnt be surprised if he is redshirt for 2016

Going from June/July return to missing the entire season seems like a pretty significant jump to me. I don't see where you gain much by going for a RS with him. Tuttle doesn't strike me as a 5 year player.

Alexis johnson. Is he still on the team? Thought all was cool in his situation from earlier this year.

Still on the team, felony charge of false improsonment dropped, misdemeanor domestic abuse charge will be dropped if he stays "clean" for 6 months. He remains indefinitely suspended but still on team.
