Vince Young released by Titans.

Does anyone know anything about Blaine Gabbert from Missouri? I have to admit that I know nothing about him and don't remember watching any Mizzou games this year.

I have a friend (knowledgeable football fan) who goes to Mizzou and wants us to stay away from gabbert because he "piles up yards but chokes in the clutch"...there may be other reasons too, I'll ask

I think Tennessee may be better off going a different route than drafting a QB. I'd rather bring Kerry back another year than draft a bust that will set them back even further.

I would love to see Patrick Peterson on the board at 8 but I doubt he will be.

What do you think the Titans biggest needs are?

IMO we need CB, QB, LB, S, O-line (C) and D-line in no particular order.

Getting Derrick Morgan back will help the line a lot and possibly picking up Albert Haynesworth

I think the secondary looked that much worse because the line didn't put pressure on the quarterback but Finnegan and Hope looked pretty bad regardless.

I also think Verner and Mccourty will continue to improve but they still need a shut down corner and safety. (what happened to Vince Fuller)

I also wonder how much is on Chuck Cecil so a new coach may also do wonders for that defense.

The Titans need to upgrade at LB to go along with Tulloch and McRath.

Quarterback is the biggest need on the team.

Hopefully o-line help can be found in FA or draft. The tackles are solid but guards and center could be upgraded.

This team has a lot of holes right now.

If Palmer is cut, sign him immediately and draft a QB to develop for a year or two.

IMO, that is what the Titans need to do.

We got decent pressure on the qb, could have been better but I honestly believe an undersized Jason Jones is our best DT if he can stay healthy. Our CB play was pitiful save Verner, given some time he'll be good enough but Finnegan was a product of the excellent pass rush in prior years, he's horrible now.

I don't like the idea of burning our number 1 pick on a qb when viable options are available via trade or possibly free agency that suit our needs.

I think we need a linebacker with a bit more size in the middle and another safety. I would say concentrate on the defense in the draft and identify a qb and either trade or sign in free agency.

The Randy Moss experiment worked out so well that now you want to double down and take back another locker room cancer? Why not go for the trifecta and make a move for Terrell Owens as well?

There's no guarantee of that. Personally, I think the Arizona Cardinals should take Mallett at #5.

There's been a bit of news saying that the Cardinals might want to give Skelton (sp?) a shot at starting QB (like being a bit impressed)

Will just have to see where the news goes up until their pick in april though

Titans are a 8-8 team every yr anyway. May as well keep fisher for a few more yrs. Bud is so scared to mess up that easy cash cow he has that Fisher runs for him. Just think Bud is the only coach who doesn't even have to deal with the team at ALL. He and Fisher have gotten lazy.

well he's an owner, not a coach

lots of goods, bads too. Saw several of his games (only one I remember was the OU game, in which he played pretty well, 30/42 308 1TD). I have to be honest though, I didn't watch him too heavily though because I expected him to stay another season.

i'll try to see if I can find a good scouting report on him.

I'm back and forth on the kid too, more so for maybe youth/ thinking he should get another season of experience first

Yeah seeing as Randy Moss was a real "locker room cancer" with the Titans. The problem with Moss is that he isn't the same dominant player as he was and the Titans didn't throw him the ball.

Haynesworth didn't want to play in a 3-4 and while I don't agree with how he handled the situation, he should be satisfied playing for Washburn in a 4-3.

You also get him at a lower price and don't give the Redskins much to acquire him so that if he does do something stupid you can dump him without losing much.

Don't forget Adam Jones is unemployed. I'm sure they could get him to re-sign. Surely Fisher has a good attorney on speed dial.

Who is the last dumb quarterback to have any real success in the NFL. I qualify success as winning when it counts. The only one I can think of is Rex Grossman. He made it to a Superbowl, but lost, and he is definently dumb...

We should have stayed away after his Wonderlic score came out

Does anyone have an idea of some quarterbacks coming out in 2012 besides Luck? The Titans will most likely be picking high again next season, assuming there is a season.

Matt Barkley would be eligible, not sure what his draft stock is or if intends on leaving early but it my be better to pick up a veteran this year and go after a QB next draft.

How would they decide pick order if there is no season?

the lockout at shouldnt last longer than 1 year at most

Well how do the pick the draft order for 2012 if there is a lockout? I'm assuming they'll have to play a bad season in 2011 order to draft high in 2012.

that I can't answer. If the lockout lasts only the supposed 4-6 weeks, then I imagine simply the reminant of the season will be used to determine the draft order.

Everything said seems to suggest there would still be a draft the following season, as long as a new CBA had been reached. How it'd be determined, no one's gone into though....could very well go with the previous order, but noone knows for certain yet

Why not? Why don't you like that pick? I wanted them to trade to get Kolb from the "eagles", but they are presumed to be asking wayyyy too much in return. I hope they draft Mallett.

Heard he has some off-field issues and attitude problems. Not necessarily a "leader." I would be content taking a CB, DE, or WR and signing a free agent QB. Of course, the CBA being what it is, it may be a while until we can sign free agents.

I hope we don't draft a QB, in the first round anyway...I don't think anyone in the discussion is worthy of the 8th overall pick. I wouldn't mind taking a flier on Nick Foles later, depending on when he gets drafted, but I mainly want us to get a veteran not named Kerry Collins.
