Anybody know if you can purchase the game without buying the whole $145 gameplan? Can you do a day purchase? If so how much?

I asked the same thing to one of Direct TV's online customer support and got a negative response. I think you're out of luck.

I don't think you can. I just got direct Tv's big package with Sunday Ticket but didn't get Game Plan and I asked about ordering single games because I knew that the Ohio game would be the only one that we would PPV. But i'm still going to call.

I did it last year just buying it a game at a time. Just call the direct tv operator and tell them you want to purchase the one game, have the channel number ready.

I think I waited until gameday to do it, and it was around $30 if I remember correctly.

Yes, you can buy ESPN GamePlan for a single day.

How to order ESPN GamePlan for a single day's worth of games?
ESPN GamePlan is available on a pay per day basis for $24.00. You can order a full day of ESPN GamePlan action on Saturdays using your remote or by calling (800) 531-5000 (a $5.00 phone assistance fee will apply).

Please note that blackout restrictions apply to games in your designated region. Visit directv.com/blackouts for more information on blackouts and directv.com/gameplan for more information about ESPN GamePlan.

This.

But you can only order through your remote if your box runs through your phone line. If it runs through your cable outlet you need to order over the phone.

I didn't last year (Did they have a PPV game?) but the two years before that I was able to order the individual game on PPV for I think around $30.

Sorry, I had to go back and change my post.

If your box is through your phone line, ordering through your remote is easiest.

If your box runs through your cable outlet, you need to call direct tv and order it.

For some reason I've been fortunate enough to avoid Tennessee blackouts... lets me pick up the entire day's GamePlan for $24 vs. spending $30+ on a single UT PPV.

Very convenient, thx Dish Network.

I think you can save 5 bucks or so(not sure)if you order it by having your phone line connected to the back of your receiver.I would not go the route of calling and ordering it.I have had many problems in the past with dealing with Directv customer service. For instance, having the idiot put on the wrong game or not getting the game on before kickoff. So,do yourself a favor and just connect your phoneline in to the back of your receiver and order it.

I purchased the game plan and honestly it's crap. I will not watch any games on there except when UT plays. I regret it. Would rather go to a bar!

I just read on secsports.com that it is a PPV game. In Jacksonville, and I figure everywhere outside TN, the game will be on espn360.com. I just checked.

Nvm - looks like this has already been posted.

DirecTV typically offers it on PPV(I think you buy the Vol Network broadcast). It will be blacked out on the ESPN Gameplan for Tennessee residents. Just check your local listings this week(its not showing which games/channels on mine yet) and you can order it with your remote. Last year only game I didn't go to I ordered--it was around $34.95 or so.
