I believe it could go either way. But I could see the dismal attitudes of the reporters in the clip plus, did anyone notice they sort of kept digging at us for being a 6-6 team? I mean if they said it once they said it 20 times. It was like, we should beat this team that doesn't have a great record. After all they won 7 games. GBO

They won 7 games in a junior high league. They would not have beaten any of the teams Tennessee lost to. The Big 10 is awful.

Every Iowa fan I have heard from is really depressed about the season.

Join the CROWD.....

We have been in the dumps for YEARS!!!
This is our coming out party!!!

If I were an IOWA fan, this would be my biggest concern.

I can't not watch the hawks play. I still have the TV on. hit record, sit and watch.

we just haven't had a lot to cheer about lately. My wife comes downstairs and asks, "how the game? I haven't heard you cheering or anything. "

Yep, just sort of watch. I fell asleep during a game once this year. That is hard to believe.

The major reason for the hum drum attitude of this video is because of this...
2008 Outback South Carolina 31-10 W 2009 Orange Georgia Tech 24-14 W 2010 Insight Missouri 27-24 W 2011 Insight Oklahoma 14-31 L 2013 Outback LSU 14-21 L
Tennessee on the other hand is all Rah Rah about this bowl game.

Don't think these men think we are a quality opponent.

Is everybody in Iowa that boring?

The guy on the left is a joke. Tennessee is favored with their lowly 6-6 record because of the "SEC brand?" Are you joking?

Or maybe it has to do with the fact that our worst loss was to Florida, and their 5 losses came to teams like Iowa State and Maryland with a complete blowout loss to Minnesota.

Nice research, hot shot. I am sitting here just in awe of their 7-5 B1G record, though. Absolutely impressive.

They played ONE ranked team all year. We played 5 ranked teams, 9 bowl-eligible teams, 3 top-5 teams and both SECCG teams. If anyone tries to compare records at any point again, I'll just ignore everything else they have to say. Iowa is a decent football team, but damn.

And don't take my previous post as confidence that we're going to win. We have tons of weaknesses, and we don't have any good wins on our resume. The difference is, we don't have any bad losses either. They do.

I think its important to clarify something. Iowa fans DO have tremendous respect for the SEC, Tennessee and its football tradition. Please don't mistake Iowa's malaise for a lack of respect. Iowa fans are simply unhappy with Iowa right now and it has nothing what so ever to do with UT.

Are there any Iowa fans that don't have a friggin hawkeye tattoo somewhere on their body?

I believe you get a free tattoo when you cross the Mississippi.

I have a lot of respect for the SEC and Tennessee is a program with rich tradition. Obviously, it's the toughest conference in the country and people that say differently are idiots.

Everyone of our fans that is sick of Ferentz is an idiot as well. There is a reason he was given the 2nd safest football contract behind Saban. He was coming off an 11-2 year where we won the Orange Bowl. We are Iowa. Make fun of our corn, hogs, flat landscape, yadda yadda yadda. We have a low population and we have another major university in our backyard in Iowa State. We have to recruit from outside our state which is always a challenge. We have to develop our players through the program. Our new football facility will help us recruit better but we were so far behind everyone else in terms of the college football arms race. It's truly amazing that Ferentz has accomplished what he has given the facilities he has to work with.

Ferentz believes in "ebbs and flows" in our program. We will be down for a few years and then we will have a couple of great years in terms of Iowa Football. We went 8-4 last year and then we were sitting at 7-3 when we lost a very close game to Wisconsin. They had to convert some huge 3rd downs and we were rolling if we just could have gotten the ball back. We were up on Nebraska 24-7 and then blew it in overtime. I will not make any excuses for the ISU and Minnesota losses. For some reason our hated rival ISU has our number under Ferentz and we just laid down and quit against Minnesota. My point is that we finished 7-5 and the record is what it is but we also could have been in the Big Ten title game, which is sad, but true. Ferentz would be scary at a blueblood program and he has had the chance to leave many times but didn't.

We will come out and punch teams in the mouth on the lines. If you give Ferentz a month to prep for a bowl game we are not going to get blown out. The only two times in the last 16 years that we have been blown out in a bowl game was in 2002 against USC (Leinart and Bush) in the Orange Bowl and 2011 against Oklahoma in the Insight Bowl.

We have a decent track record against the SEC in bowl games with wins over Florida, LSU, crushed South Carolina, Missouri, etc. I honestly don't think that you will blow us out but that's my humble opinion. Iowa Bowl History, Scores, Results

agree with your sentiment but have to make a couple corrections. the orange bowl was played against carson palmer and troy polamalu and oklahoma scored a late garbage touchdown to make that game seem like more of a blowout than it was

I expect to win this game easily, but it is one of those trap style games. We win and everyone will say we should have, no big deal. But on the off chance we lose and it could hurt our momentum a great deal.

The key is going to be our OL, as in the rest of our season went. Games that our OL was healthy and performed and we saw flashes of brilliance. Games that our OL was banged up and tired and so did not perform well and we looked like a highschool team playing vs NFL teams.

We need 2 more recruiting classes with some solid 4* OL commits to build some true depth and talent. A 5* stud or two and we get into the playoffs..JMHO
