Please forgive me if this has been posted in the past. Compared to some of y’all I am relatively new to this forum.

I graduated from UTK. My freshman year was 1987. My blood turned orange at the 1987 Auburn game.

With the passing of Coach Majors I have been listening to his stories. Fascinating. He could definitely tell a story! This made me wonder if there is any audio or video of General Neyland? Is anybody aware of one?

By the way Freak, thanks for all you do.

Well, tape recorders weren't a "thing" until the mid-1950s and the "portable" machines were the size of a suitcase well into the 1960s. Before that there were wire recorders but they were quite rare. Most recordings would have done on a record disk, which required its own specialized equipment. All this changed with the introduction of cassette tapes and recorders in the late 60s by which time The Gen'rul was long in the grave. (died in 1962)

I am friends with his son Bob, grandson Reese, and great grandsons...what an amazing family. I'll ask them if they have anything like this.
I went to HS with Reese, last I heard he was a minister in LA. Didn't Reese have a little brother? Reese was a good baseball player, played Hoops too. I actually got along with Bob better than Reese.

Cassettes and I came along about the same time. Guess I never realized how difficult it was before that. I appreciate you looking around.
