Ok, here is my problem. As some of you know, I recently got an xbox 360 elite which means that I now have two 360's. I had the second one hooked up to a small tv in my bonus room but it always seemed to be in the way so I decided to hook it up to my computer. I bought the vga cable and ran the video into my 15" lcd (I know it's small, I use my laptop most of the time) and the audio into the line in on my sound card. Everything works great. I went into the setup and set the xbox resolution to 1024x768 since that is the max resolution of my monitor. Funny thing is, some games like ncaa 2008 seem to play in full screen and Gears of War has bars at the top and bottom. How can this be?

Maybe gears is setup to be a wide screen game?!?!? Check the in game settings

Ok, I pulled out another monitor that supports 1280x1024 and it's the same issue. I'm going to do some searching but I'm guessing I need to select some odd resolution to help remedy the issue.

Nobody knows? Remus?

I really still don't understand this. I guess the bottom line is that different games play at different resolutions.

GoW is a "wide-screen" aspect only game freaky, 1280x960. I do know though that with the right video card and drivers you can get the aspect stretched to fit the screen. Although GoW is coming to the PC with Unreal Editor .

if gears is 1280x960 and most other games aren't then that probably answers my question. :hi:

Widescreen aspect only makes sense.
