Vickers is right!

CBJ has hand picked guys to brainwash into being fine young men. They may not have needed much development any ways.

My bad Vick. Didn't mean no disrespect.

I've yet to see one interview of our players. Could someone please link them all on Volnation or direct me where they are posted?

"we go out there to win every game." I'm down with that.

I think the Vols will be the 1st College team to go 15-0. (If it's already happened, then the next one. I only pay close attention to the Vols.)

I still maintain that despite what the media says, CBJ's seat isn't nearly as hot as they want to believe. I think much of that is sensationalized for clicks. I don't think he's coaching for his job. I dont think it's "SEC Championship or GTFO" at this point either. I honestly think it's more "wait and see" at this point for most people. It would take a pretty disastrous chain of events for Jones to be fired like a losing season or another loss to Vandy, KY, or SC.

No it doesn't! It shows that his team is behind him and also shows marked improvement throughout his tenure.

So in other words, the only real purpose this thread serves is to oppose the "fahr Butch" points. Kinda like showing up to a picnic and throwing garbage on the ground to see how many ants show up.

Not like you brought up something every real fan here did not already know. We already knew what Vickers said, we are fans, we follow media days. We fight enough over worthwhile opposing points of view, but you opened up drawing lines in the sand daring someone to walk past it because you had nothing better to do. Whatever. Have fun.

Sigh, why does anonymity empower some to be a-holes?

Here's an idea for Vickers and the rest of team. If you don't like the fans demanding more from your coach, go win some games you aren't supposed to win. In fact, let's start smaller. Win all the games you are supposed to win and then tell me how great your coach is.

Jones and his players should worry ALOT less about the media & fans opinions, and start winning some damn football games. I'm so tired of the hurt feelings.

Do you know what should hurt Mr. Vickers? Losing to Vandy badly when you have an SECCG appearance on the line. Want to defend your coach? Go win...

I am still holding my breath to see if Butch can improve his game day coaching. With that said I like the changes to the coaching staff made over the last year. I think the S&C coach, new QB coach, DB coach and changes to existing coaches assignments will pay dividends.

if you want that top 5 recruiting class to stay intact, you better root for Butch's success this year. Otherwise, you fire Butch right now and we start all over and noone is knocking down the door currently for this job.

I think this season will be Butch's best coaching job yet. I think he beats every East team this year too. This staff upgrading on the defensive side will get him over the hump...that has been the weak link in games late all along...JMO.

And there's that three bowl wins touted as the sign of turning the program around.

You chose to read what he had to say when he was asked a question (I'm assuming you clicked the link and read it, maybe not). But you're upset that he answered a question. Makes perfect sense.

There isn't many other coaches out there, that could do much better. JMO

Vickers is exactly right. Stadium is packed, revenues are up, recruiting is outstanding, W/L is trending up and the three straight bowl blowouts are commendable.

Imagine being at work and 6-8 times per day being told, get it right if you want to stay around. Mess up and you are FIRED. Makes for nervous and unsure decisions.

I'm glad BJ is a Vol.

I think he is fine as long as this team takes care of business. If this team underachieves a little, then he will be on a really hot seat next year. If this team greatly underachieves, then he could be gone...but when you think about it, that is pretty much the same for any coach in the SEC not named Saban.

Obviously when you start bashing the players, you really don't care whether anyone cares or not.

JS, these kids are giving it all for Tennessee despite who the HC is. Whether we like Butch or not, he's the one who's in charge. He's the guy that the players have to listen too. They didn't have to come here to play football but they did.

The players actually work their ass off & on the field while guys like us, go on about our normal daily basis whether it's working, spending time with our families, or posting on the internet in an public forum such as Volnation.

He was asked the question, and he answered it. Considering that the media asked him the question and he was obligated to be there, it's really difficult to "worry ALOT less" about the media. SMDH.

Can we somehow stop the bickering over our coach? Let's not forget that the #1 enemy of Tennessee is not Butch Jones but Nick Saban. The dumbest move in the SEC last season, was Saban firing his OC Kiffin right after they won the National semi-final. Correct or not he looks stupid for the result of losing the championship. Then his new OC lasts only about 10 minutes. Saban has not adjusted to the new recruiting schedules and he has, so far, not had a great recruiting year. The press says "oh, it's Alabam, they'll be fine." One bad recruiting
year could really hurt Alabama. There's blood in the water and we need to feed the sharks.
