So basically it's still Butchs plays but Larry is calling plays?

Did anybody see anything different?

I'd imagine the play calling was mostly scripted, or looking for specific actions and corrections. Like, "we're gonna run Z-43-out at least five times today" and "hey, call that play again in a minute, I want to see something" or "call a couple of run plays to the left side of the line, the defense needs to make an adjustment."

So not a very good indicator of what play calling might look like in a real game. I wouldn't try for any take-aways.

Running plays were basic. Missing 3 starters on the line and Kelly. It was good to see multiple receivers catch balls.

We only had CFA and the walk ons right?

Doesn't matter according to some...bodies equals depth, and since we had one scholly player and 5 walkons yesterday, 6 total player we had great depth and should've looked great at running back.

In all seriousness yes, just CFA and walkons. No Kelly. Come summer we add Chandler and the other 2 freshmen and our depth will improve greatly. Barring injuries, I think we'll be good with Kelly, CFA, Chandler, Jordan and Coleman.

It was obvious they were neither hitting hard or making hard cuts, injury aversion like every O&W game.

I hope no one is working up their judgement of our backs based off yesterday.

A qbs decision making/touch and maybe some speed is about the only take aways one could get.

Either we suck at RB or our D is really good.

1. Only 1 scholarship RB played.
2. Defense knew the QB wasn't keeping on the option plays, so the decision on who to pursue on those plays was much easier.
3. Lots of missing starters on both sides of the line.

I don't think much of anything can be determined from this game.

You really think they are going to run all new plays during the Orange and White game that means nothing?

Please tell me you forgot blue font or that you were drinking when you started this thread.

Did our recievers ditch that "crouch ready" stance??

For most part yes depends on player. That was annoying part about Z trying to coach everyone the same. Some guys that dip first the stance makes since for to take out an extra step. Those that don't were uncomfortable. Can't coach everyone the same especially at a positions with so many different styles

I'm just glad there wasn't a pile of injuries...we'll know a lot more when the season actually starts....

GO BIG ORANGE!

The main goal yesterday was to not get anybody hurt. They played at about 50% and only ran a few plays so it was all vanilla. No sprinkles.

But I think it's safe to be a bit concerned about RB depth.
