Funny story about Shazzon. I was a senior when he was a freshman and our jv team was playing McMinn County. Our jv team did not have a punter and since I could punt, coach asked me to come and just punt. During the game our corner got hurt, so coach says go in since I started at the position on varsity. So in I go and after about 4 plays, Shazzon is headed straight toward me with a head of steam to block me. I thought, I'm going to teach this FR a lesson. Then, my brain quickly calculated the speed he was running and he outweighed me by probably 15 to 20 pounds (I was 195 and Shazzon was a beast as a FR) and I quickly changed my approach. I ran straight at him, side stepped him at the last second, and shoved him from behind causing him to roll on the ground for about 5 yards and made the tackle. Needless to say, he was pissed and it was a good thing I didn't hit him straight on as he probably would have flattened me. I remember thinking he's going to be a beast. As a freshman, he was one of the fastest, biggest and strongest kid I saw the entire year regardless of age. I enjoyed telling stories later that I knocked a starting d-lineman at UT on his butt - slightly embellished ;)

Prayers sent for his speedy recovery.

He was a solid heavyweight prospect too after his football days were done. I believe he had to retire from boxing due to some type of eye injury. He was undefeated at 21-0 with 17 KOs.

Get well soon young man, although the taste of victory may not be something you're missing because of Covid.

I think Bradley was the strongest on the team at one time.
