VFL Peyton Manning to be honored by Colts

Stack em up any way you like but super bowl wins mean nothing. Peyton's last super bowl win is the best example. The broncos won that game with defense, Peyton was playing with a wet noodle for an arm. Not saying that Manning>Brandy, just saying that team accomplishments mean nothing.

Peyton played 17 seasons and Brady has played 17 seasons. Brady has more rings, because he has played on better TEAMS. But he will have to play 20 seasons at his current level of production to have a chance to surpass Peyton's individual stats at the QB position.

Remember, we're talking about the best at the position, not the guy who played for the best coach or on the best teams.

Brady isn't even the 2nd best QB of his era, IMO -- Drew Brees is.

It is sad that Peyton didn't play his entire career for an organization like the Elway-led Broncos. That would have been a better apples-to-apples comparison to Brady's situation.

Instead, Peyton spent the best part of his career with the Colts. You see their ineptitude with what they are doing with Luck.

I can't disagree. I think the Patriots win at least the same number of SBs with Peyton. Brees, too. Maybe a few other QBs. Brady was very fortunate to play his entire career as a Patriot.

But I don't want to give the wrong impression. I do believe Brady is one of the best ever. I think it would be silly to argue otherwise.

Brady is absolutely one of the best ever. No doubt.

But, to boil it down to only Super Bowls is oversimplifying it because, while a QB is important, it takes 21 other players to field an offense and defense, and a great kicker helps too. Belichek is a master at building TEAMS.

I think a very impressive thing about Manning that is overlooked is that he took 4 different coaches to the Super Bowl, and only one of them was worth a darn (Dungy).

Playing your entire career with One HC in the same system is Incredibly beneficial to a QB!

Not to mention playing for perhaps the Best HC Ever!!

Peyton has played for what 5 HC's all with different philosophies and Abilities?!?

Just saying.

Did you know that Peyton was in the OJ Simpson movie last summer?

He played the part of the slow, white Bronco.
